The apartment is furnished to the highest standards , located very close to the high street and at walking distance from most tourist attractions. It is a sizeable property. Well suited to 4 people. The owners have taken great care to provide everything you might need during your stay.

Fabulous small city. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Fabulous small city. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The Conservative club in the market square made us fresh sandwiches to takeaway even though take away wasn't on the menu. The city itself was very clean and well cared for. Independent shops a delight, market has an interesting mix of stalls. Well worth a visit you need more that an overnight visit to see it all. Even though the center is easy to walk around you need a whole day extra to visit the gardens and cathedral.

'England's smallest city' is worth the detour - and it is a detour. Set in lovely countryside, the unmissable sights are the beautiful Cathedral and historic Bishop's Palace in its wonderful gardens (worth getting a joint ticket for both). A great place for a weekend away, with a buzzing market on Saturday mornings and plenty of thriving independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Root on Sadler Street was especially good - mainly but not exclusively vegetarian and vegan, really inventive and fantastic quality ingredients and friendly service. There are plenty of friendly pubs serving great local beer and cider. Parking around the city centre takes luck or planning or both, but otherwise it's easy to walk everywhere.

Our trip was specifically to visit the rural levels and also to catch up on a friend in the area. We did not visit Wells on this occasion so can't comment specifically. However if you want to be well situated to explore the area Wookey Hole and its hotel is a good place to be. Locally there is the Ebor Gorge within walking distance and road access to most of the area is accessible although you must be happy driving on some narrow roads. Hotel is definitely not luxury but is clean and convenient with excellent staff. Good value for money if looking for convenience rather than luxury.

Good place to visit. Cathedral and Bishop's Palace are really lovely.
City centre has a lovely vibe and there are lots of shops and restaurants.
It's very handy for exploring the rest of the area and only a short drive from Cheddar Gorge.

We visited Wells Cathedral, which is an absolutely stunning place, the staff are very welcoming and the donation system is very reasonable. The only thing I would say is if there is anyone with Auditory sensory issue, check if they are cleaning the organ before going in as this did dampen my experience not knowing at the time. The library is up a set of s prial stairs so not accessible, however if you have someone willing to run up and take some pictures, it does look like a wonderful place.
Staff were fantastic ..nothing was to much trouble ...excellent catering with full English breakfast and evening meals ...good quality and fair prices ..always served with a smile ..
Reception staff very friendly and efficient ..any issues were delt with straight away ...
It's a value for money Hotel ...basic ..but that is all we needed for our family visit to Wells ....I would definably book again ..and stay for a few nights .
The apartment was excellent, a great location, lots of home comforts. Really couldn't fault it. The owners were really helpful and friendly. Would 100% stay here again. Location wise it was great for us as we could walk into Wells (about 40 mins) and there were 3 pubs in walking distance to choose from in the evening. We had dinner at the Burcott Inn opposite and highly recommend booking a table there. Thanks so much :)
The staff were amazing and very helpful and polite. The food was first class and nothing was too much trouble. When my wife asked for something vegan that was not on the menu the reply was "the chef can do anything you'd like!" Never had that response before in a restaurant. The location was perfect smack in the centre of Wells and easy to find. Parking is very limited at the hotel but it was the Christmas market weekend.
First of all the owner showed us warm hospitality. I really enjoyed the location. The area surroundings around our cute apartment, was beyond my expectations. The countryside was beautiful. I even took a walk and it was so close to the city center. Anyone planning a trip to Wells, consider this cozy studio apartment. Be warned that this place is a gem and probably will book up quickly as the tourist season approaches.
Sarah, hotel owner was fantastic, couldn't do enough for us. Even made her washing machine available to us.
Terrific room, tastefully decorated with extras. Great bathroom, clean and functional.
All staff in hotel were welcoming. Parking was an issue but made easy with staff assistance.
Easy walk up to market square and stunning Wells Cathedral
Lovely staff and perfect location for our needs - we were touring the historic side of Wells. Quaint room and good facilities with thoughtful touches based on the weather. We had a great dinner and had a good nights sleep. Recommended for people happy to stay in an Inn type environment with evening food and drinks downstairs.
Everything you could think of was provided. It was a beautiful apartment right in the centre of Wells. It was spacious with lots of personal touches which made it very comfortable. My sister and I often stay at The Swan Hotel in Wells but this apartment will now be our first go to when booking further trips to Wells.
Location is excellent, easy walking to town, easy driving access. Room was very clean and comfortable. Tony met us at the door and filled us in on the room, all things Wells related, and what to find beyond. Thank you Tony! Fresh fruit and juice was delicious! Fresh foods for continental breakfast.
Right in the centre of Beautiful Wells. Nice mattress, room was well decorated, historic, huge and well appointed. Clean and lovely walk-in shower. Staff friendly and helpful. Great touch was a book in the room about the history of the pub as it has a long history including as the Town Jail.
We loved the location of the hotel and the quirky room. The staff were helpful and also found us a table in their restaurant where we ordered their home made pizzas. We also enjoyed a drink on the terrace which was on the green in front of Wells Cathedral... just needed a bit more sunshine!
Parking is very limited and difficult to access. The Hotel Manager overheard us at reception being informed that we will have to find street parking and arranged for the restaurant manager to move his car so that we could take his spot at the hotel.
Very impressed.
A comfortable stay in a Grade 2 listed 15th Century Inn in the heart of England's smallest city The Gothic Cathedral, Bishops Palace and Town Museum are all within a short stroll. The hotel has a reasonable restaurant and a bar serving local real ales and cider.
Wells is delightful and the flat is just a ten minute walk to the centre.
It was decorated to a high standard - a real home from home.
We spent a lovely time frequenting the many coffee shops and eateries.
Breakfast was great- location on the green across from the cathedral stunning. But our room was cramped, hot and stuffy located up a precariously steep set of stairs. Not comfortable.
This is a truly exceptional family run boutique hotel experience. Everything about Beryl is welcoming and unique. It was the perfect environment from which to explore Wells.
