This was an incredible amount of space for the price. Perfect for traveling with our adult child. And the location was very nice with a handful of pubs and restaurants a very short walk away.

The staff was lovely . Arranged for my sister and I to upgrade easily to two rooms on a low floor as we had initially booked two singles but they were on the top floor and my sister doesn't use lifts .

We had a large accessible room with plenty of room for my wheelchair in the bedroom and bathroom. Could have used a second comfy chair as hubby wasn't comfy on the office chair. Those are my only gripes! Hotel was very clean, staff very helpful, polite and welcoming. Large choice at breakfast, I can't imagine anyone not finding something that they liked. I was even cooked some croissants as they'd run out ( thank you Tracy and Cheryl!). Would happily return. There was loads of pubs, takeaways and restaurants in the area so we didn't use the restaurant in the evening.

Value for money. Very friendly, helpful staff.
Value for money. Very friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast. The only disappointment was that the bar closed 'early' (for us!), but as there were not too many people in the bar, this is understandable. We stayed for three nights. No housekeeping, which actually suited us and would have been our preference. All staff (including reception, kitchen and 'others') friendly and helpful. Gave us additional towels, and tea/coffee on request.

This is not a fancy hotel, however it’s friendly and clean, comfortable. There is a bar and restaurant for evening meals. The breakfast caters to all and provides value for money, which sets you up for the day. Washington itself good sat navigation needed, lots of roundabouts can get a little confusing. Beamish museum is a lovely place to visit, even those with disabilities, they have an access bus, which will take the wheelchair user and carer to any destination on site. This was the only site we visited as up in the area for personal reasons.

Washington Tyne and Wear is a great location for a short stay. Just a short hop off the A1M. There are plenty of walks nearby and Washington is located within a short distance of the city of Newcastle and Gateshead. Both locations being a 10 to 15 minute drive away respectively.

We were attending a family wedding the following day so didnt get to view much of Washington , we did have a walk along the River tyne and wear before going to the hotel .
Would recommend the hotel though
It was the best value for what I wanted in the Durham area, I liked the look of the hotel and its price which was outstanding value for money. The staff were brilliant and very friendly and I was stuck first afternoon for an extension lead as there were not many points in the room and they sorted it out asap. The breakfast each morning was really great and allthough I was early 2 out of the 3 mornings it was never any trouble to them. I am visiting my boy in University over the next 3 years and I will stay here without a doubt each time.
Location in a lovely setting. Very quiet even though the hotel was pretty busy and full. Comfy beds. Lovely shower. Cheapest price around. Toby restaurant up the road and a good base for going to Durham or Newcastle. Staff very friendly and helpful and doing the best they can for you in these covid times. The staff make the Campanile a very lovely place to stay. I travel up from the south and after a long drive I know that I can get a good night's sleep that evening. Thank you Campanile. I be back again soon.
Hotel was quiet, yet everybody did their upmost to make the best of our stay. The manager, the reception staff, the bar staff, the restaurant were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. This is a budget hotel, and everyone really tried their best - so thank you. Surprisingly the food for hotel food was also pretty good.. So all in all, thanks very much for a very enjoyable stay
All of the staff were very friendly during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble for them; they made us feel very welcome. The rooms were spotless, food in the onsite restaurant was of good standard, the bar was well stocked with comfortable seating and you could get parked easily. Would strongly recommend this hotel.
This was the third time we have stayed at this hotel and everything is exactly what it should be. The price, room, parking, comfort, food and staff are all excellent. Well done, you have set the standards for all others to follow. I am just booking another stay.
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and as I am not that mobile the big bathroom with sit down shower and grip bars was very welcome. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful with a wide choice.
The hotel is in a convenient location close to the A1(M) between Newcastle and Durham. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Ample free parking. Free iced drinks provide in the lobby, which was most welcome during the heatwave.
Nice clean and tidy hotel, booked for 1 night, few drinks at the bar and up to the room for some loving on the comfy bed, don’t think we’ll be seeing each other again but can’t blame that on the hotel
For what’s is called a budget hotel, I couldn’t agree any less. It has everything you need for a stay and the staff are friendly and approachable, they certainly go out their way to assist you.
