We didn't realise we could have booked breakfast in advance. We had the breakfast off the menu. It was very nice.

The staff -especially the receptionist and waiter- were delightful. The restaurant food was delicious. The building and its setting are lovely. Our room had a bath as well as a shower - that’s sadly becoming a rarity these days.

My parents stayed here on an overnight stay we bought them as a gift. They are in their 70s/80s. They loved it and thought it was comfortable, food was great and staff really friendly. They loved the grounds and it was convenient for driving into Beverley and visiting the nearby sights.

We used Walkington as a stop off for an overnight on our way to a weekend at Bridlington. The village is lovely, it has a choice of 3 pubs, The Dog and Duck, The Ferguson Fawsitt and The Barrel.
A steady easy walk into Beverley can be made from the village, it is a 2.5 mile walk along well maintained footpaths.
Taxis can easily be obtained in Beverley if required for the trip back

Whilst we were there the weather was perfect, travelled around the local area taking in the sights, Beverley was interesting, nice to be able to go into the cathedral. Not too far away from the coast.
