Truro is a lovely city in Cornwall. People are friendly and hospitable. Tons of restaurants, shops, cafe's, and there is a Town Hall that has entertainment, movie house so a short stay here would be filled with lots to do. The Cathedral is a lovely place to visit and there is lots to do from this central point.
Hire a car and head to Newquay, Falmouth or St Ives for the day.

City centre was lovely!
City centre was lovely! We enjoyed meandering through the cathedral (which was very grand, the architecture absolutely brought me to tears, managed to light a prayer candle for lent, also they have an ongoing exhibit about awareness of abuse in the church) and the cornwall museum is closeby :D they have wacky artefacts. The coffee and cornish pasties and the pastries are the bomb dot com but the other grub not so much, i mean, it's just typical british fare innit haha also truro station connects easily to penzance and the other more touristy bits. Transportationwise, quite hard, buses are a little but unreliable even with the time table. Not much uber drivers but the taxis are popping. There are taxis around the station and they have a taxi calling app and there are cards that you can get from the accommodation. Pretty old timey but charming.

Truro is an attractive small city and it’s easy to find parking and to walk around the shops and see the cathedral.
There are plenty of places to have coffee or lunch.
The bus station is right beside the shopping area, which has a large Marks and Spencer’s, which has a cafe, a large branch of Waterstones as well as a good selection of independent shops and an indoor market.

Great base for exploring Cornwall but not sure what it’s like in summer. We parked in the town with ease but we visited in November.
Masses of shops. It is the county town so is a magnet for shoppers.
Cathedral and Cornwall Museum worth a visit. Hall for Cornwall has a variety of shows.
Thoroughly enjoyed the pasty shop for lunch.
Check roadworks though. A30 was closed intoTrurofor the whole weekend whilst work is going on building the new by pass. It took us ages to follow the detour.

I did want to explore the town a bit more, especially the cathedral, but this visit was to see a show and I had to return the next day.
I had a meal at an Italian restaurant literally up the road from the hotel, it was decent enough.

Truro is a lovely place to visit.
Truro is a lovely place to visit. Old and new buildings to see and plenty of places to go. Resturants of many different cuisines and a nice open area to sit and chill with a coffee. There is a beach, about 7 miles away, (Perranporth) which is lovely and has the traiditional fish and chips, kiss me quick hats etc and you're not too far away from the north side so Newquay etc is all available within 45 to 60 minutes in the car.
Supermarkets are a plenty in and around Truro too. The catherdral is a must to visit. A beautiful building and well worth some time spent.
Great location. Lovely hideaway Lodge on the outskirts of Truro. Dog friendly property and area.
Makes a fantastic base for exploring Cornwall. Beaches within short distance in the car.
A very quiet and peaceful location - perfect to unwind and relax. We slept so well due being no noise from outside.
The lodge was cosy and we enjoyed making use of the outside patio and furniture on the sunny days. A traditional cream tea on arrival was a welcome touch from the owners Janet and Luc.
We organised a last minute break 4 night break to Cornwall and chose Chycara because it was within budget, the location was perfect and the accommodation was different to what we’d normally book (a b&b/hotel). We stayed in the Lake Lodge which was, as you’d expect, near the lake. It was clean and tidy and located in beautiful, peaceful grounds. Set just outside of Truro we were within easy reach of the east & west coast.
We went to this part of Cornwall to remind ourselves how lovely it is , trelissick gardens were a couple of miles, King Harry Ferry , St Just church , and the cliffs of south Cornwall . This lovely house was in a perfect position to do all of that. House is small , perfect for two , warm and comfy , lovely gardens to walk in , walking distance to two pubs , and easy drive to truro , Falmouth , north Cornwall etc .
A great location with amazing, huge rooms which were extremely comfortable. The Townhouse has a pretty garden that you can sit out and relax whenever you want to. We had a continental breakfast delivered to our room each morning which you could eat either in your room or in the garden. We also had room service each day of our stay! I cannot recommend this hotel enough! I cannot wait to go back!
Well what can I say!! Gorgeous cottage very tastefully furnished and decorated.beautiful garden.the host thought of everything a personalized card and scones and jam on arrival lovely touch.and treats and a towel for the dog.everything there for you just had to buy food.lovely thoughtful hosts and perfect base for visiting other parts of Cornwall.
The hotel is a former convent whose architecture is stunning! The hotel and dining facilities are beautifully decorated. The outdoor patios and surrounding landscaping is lovely for dining or cocktails. The bar and restaurant on site are wonderful with the best breakfast that we had while traveling.
The house was amazing. Spacious, in a lovely area and very tidy. The hosts were exemplary and there for us when needed. We only stayed for two nights but would love to come back sometime in the near future. A real gem in Cornwall. Thanks, James and Helen. All the best from the Netherlands.
Very comfortable room with everything we needed. Very good continental breakfast in a beautifully refurbished dining room. Plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel and just a 10-minute walk into Truro city centre. Excellent, friendly service from all staff too.
A short taxi ride takes you into the centre of Truro £5, plus hood location to visit many other places in Cornwall from. Found the food to be fresh and enjoyed the wide choices at breakfast especially. Beds were very comfortable and room was spacious.
June and Greg were extremely friedly and perfect hosts. June baked regularly fresh home made cakes. Location in Truro was perfect. Turo is perfectly located to explore Cornwall and offers a good variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars.
Everything was very good breakfast a bit slow on the first morning but top marks after that.we also liked the hotel as there is bus stops just out side that takes you to all the coastal places you need to visit.also lovely view from bedroom.
Excellent location. Close to the truro railway station but a bit of a steep walk but we were absolutely okay with that. Close to lidl and Saintsbury so got few items easily. Our room had a fridge, microwave which was a good addition.
Very clean and cosy. Good facilities- loved the shower. Good to have an on-site parking space large enough for a SUV. Close walking distance to the city centre. Perfect location to explore Cornwall by car, train and bus.
The staff are friendly and efficient . The room was very clean and spacious. we didn't have any evening meals here but the breakfasts were very good. The hotel is idea as a base for visiting cornwall .
The Zucchini was so friendly, welcoming and comfortable it felt like home. The owners were fantastic fun and made us feel like family friends. Plus they make the best Pizzas outside of Italy.
Beech Barn, cosy, comfortable, well equipped. Perfectly located to explore Cornwall from a very peaceful base.
Friendly hosts. Beautiful views on all sides.
