I stayed all to briefly as was meeting up with friends. The room was spacious, clean and attractive with huge windows that could be opened to let in fresh air! I really wish that I could have stayed longer, rather than having to leave very early the next morning to be somewhere else. The bed was sooo comfortable.

Breakfast was delicious and Julia was very kind and helpful. Beautiful old building in a quiet side street but within walking distance of the town center. We had a spacious family room which worked well for us and our three young children. We really enjoyed our stay!

Warm cozy room with tea facilities and bathroom...just needed a bath mat from out of the shower and the room cleaning a bit better, but it was all good for 2 nights.

Message regarding where property was located was only sent at 2:55 when we were due to check in at 3pm. Once we had these access was straight forward. However we did not have phone access until about 3.30 so went to funeral directors next door! They had no idea where property was.
Original instructions postcode sent us to the funeral directors at the back of the property!!

Tucked away from the main road, but close enough to get to all of the amenities, this well thought out property was a real find. Lots of lovely touches, quiet, and great value.

Totnes is a beautiful town, very quirky and lots of interesting back streets to explore with cobbled paving and gorgeous old buildings. The main street is very special and full of lovely little independent gift shops, cafes etc. I have been here several times over the years and am always keen to return.

Totnes is a lovely place to visit for a short stay or mini break. We loved the variety of shops in the town which had a lovely vibe. The weekend market was fantastic! We also loved the sustainability factor! Being on the river meant there were also lots of lovely places to explore as well as the opportunity to take a delightful boat trip to Dartmouth! Totnes makes a great base from which to explore other areas like aTorquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth. There are good transport links so if you don’t drive, it’s not an issue! Would definitely visit Totnes again! :-)

Totnes is one of those places that once visited you know you will return to. It's located on a river that creates a sense of horizontal flow at the bottom of the town. Crossing the bridge towards the town centre, looking up, you may feel a little faint that the main shopping street requires quite a hike to the top of the street. But don't be larmed1 The way to do it is to zig-zag, lacing from one interesting shop to the next. Especially, explore the numerous charity shops for branded shirts and leather jackets presumably gifted by upmarket locals. When you finally get towards the top of the street you will find lovely cafes and restaurants serving delicious local foods. We decided to take away delicious vegetarian food from Seeds, and sit in the little green park, just off the nearby square.

Only visited the Steamer Quay.
Only visited the Steamer Quay. The parking payment options were crap and not working causing a backlog. The Cafe next to the Booking office was excellent and the Boss allowed me to park as I could not obtain a Parking Ticket. The Dartmouth Boat trip is good.

A good spot for an active vacation 4-7 days.
A good spot for an active vacation 4-7 days. Lots of outdoor possibilities, fresh air, good food and friendly people. Local bicycle rental would be nice. Totnes is also a kind of place where a language school for adults might be a success.
The hotel is perfectly located at the bottom of Totnes High Street, overlooking the bridge. We were able to park there which was convenient, though plenty of parking is available in the Morrisons car park. Our room was very comfortable, and overlooked the bridge. We were pleased to find that we had a bathtub, as well as a very powerful shower. At the price, we would definitely stay again. We had dinner at the pub which was also very pleasant.
Super location, quiet and tranquil. Beautifully presented property where a lot of thought has gone into the interior design as well as the grounds.
The hosts made us feel very welcome and provided a splendid breakfast that set us up for the day.
The location is ideal for visiting Totnes and the nearby coastal towns, as well as the many National Trust properties in the surrounding area.
A perfect base to explore South Devon.
The hotel is in a fantastic location formerly owned by the chef Keith Floyd. The staff were very welcoming and the food especially the Sunday roast was superb. The breakfast was fantastic. Excellent polite service. We had a budget room but it was clean and comfortable. And the cost? £65 B&B. Compare that with another waterfront hotel we stayed at in Totnes- £160 for the night and very mediocre breakfast for £15 each!!
lovely 2 nights stay at Royal Seven star hotel. The room was good sized and the bed was really comfortable. All amenities in the room were excellent. The restaurant/pub downstairs is amazing, the food was the highlight of our stay. The have by far the best kids menu I have come across. My 4 year old daughter finished her food and asked for it again the next day.
The Old Forge passed the breakfast ‘orange juice’ test with flying colours. For the uninitiated, this gives an accurate assessment of the quality of an establishment. Very few hotels achieve maximum marks by supplying freshly squeezed juice but the Old Forge came a close second by serving juice ‘with bits ‘. Overall the breakfast was first rate.
Our host picked us up at the train station. The appartement was very english in the best sense of the word and very cosy. We loved the sight of the castle and the church from our balcony and the short way through the garden to the main street and met very friendly neighbours. We spent a wonderful time there.
Perfect location, wonderful valley view as advertised, with private meadow and woods to explore, great base for Totnes and all around. Lovely touches like homemade flapjacks in the caravan on arrival. Caravan itself was spacious and well kitted out, BBQ area outdoors a bonus! Really special trip, thank you!
Cosy, friendly pub & hotel. Superb cooked breakfasts with plenty for vegetarians. I felt very welcome and relaxed as a single (woman) guest. Great range of beers and whiskeys too. Lovely location by the river and a 5 minute walk from the centre.
The garden was the best feature but the hotel is also around a nice courtyard of period buildings - the breakfast building was impressive. Breakfast was a standard hot buffet. The bagel cafe was great. There's a cinema on site too.
Such a cosy welcoming place - charming staff, comfortable stylish rooms and really excellent food. Old world charm just up the road from Totnes, one of my favourite towns. Delicious breakfast too!
The decor and ambience of the property, especially the bedrooms and all upstairs was superb. The property was spacious and spotlessly clean and had almost everything required for a perfect stay.
A clean and comfortable apartment with views over Totnes from the outside roof top area. The large living area meant it felt very spacious which more than made up for the size of the bedroom.
Large spacious clean and comfortable room in a small village half way between Totnes and Dartmouth, excellent base for walks in the area . Very friendly owners and excellent breakfast!
The ethos is great and the evening staff for dinner were very friendly and helpful
Position of hotel is good surrounded by some of the best shops and restaurants/cafes in Totnes
The location was great in the centre of Totnes, the space was very relaxing although we were in a town it felt like a city break. we will come back, the cafe staff were lovely.
