    Torquay is a faded gem.

Torquay is a faded gem. Sadly the area lost the many well-paid jobs in technology which, coupled with the loss of domestic holidays to the mediterranean resorts, cost it dear. The area is now run-down, but there are many attractions still available. It's well worth a visit (I would say that, I lived there for ten years and enjoyed it greatly), as it's a unique corner of the UK!

Trecarn hotel is not far to visit neighbouring areas such as Torquay, mead foot beach and Paignton, the hotel rooms are basic but have everything you need for a comfortable nights sleep, the bath & shower was brilliant, our room was nice & clean and hotel staff were all lovely, thank you 😊 We had a lovely time Elizabeth & Tricia Mitchell

If you like drinking and being a general yahoo in the streets then Torquay would be the ideal location for you. Definitely don’t recommend driving your car, as you’ll need to walk miles to get to it. Overrated, with no class to it at all.

Torquay is a lovely English seaside town, has lots of links to Agatha Christie and some great local restaurants and bars. Lots of things to do only down side is at the moment the town is under going many road works in and out so getting about can be a bit slow by car/taxi. its also very hilly so walking can be difficult if in anyway unabled.

Been to Torquay regularly down the years, but we missed last year due to other commitments. Couldn't believe the change. What has happened to the town? It is a dishevelled, shabby place. Now full of beggars, roadworks, and boarded up shops. Thoroughly depressing and I'm so sad to say that I will not be returning. It is a ghost of what it once was, the jewel in Torbay. Couldn't wait to leave..

Being a relatively new build the Hotel was in excellant condition. It was in a prime location, steps away from the inner harbour and sea front. The staff were super friendly and very attentive. The food, especially the breakfast, was excellent. It was nice to have a bar to have a drink anytime and food was available until 9pm. We went by train, Torquay station was around a mile away, a wonderful walk along the sea front and past the harbour. Very reasonably priced especially considering that the breakfast was included.

Absolutely fantastic views which were out of this world from our sea view room, it was beautiful n clean too, with a massive most comfortable bed ever. All the staff, from our warm welcoming at reception, to the bar staff, to the waiters n waitresses. They were all polite n happy to help n go above n beyond. We loved the hot tubs, steam room n sauna too. We also thought the idea of the buffet breakfast was brilliant with a wide selection to choose from. We would highly recommend this hotel to our friends n family.

The coastal waters Hotel was amazing value for money. The hotel was cleaned throughout, and the owner was amazing. I highly recommend staying here again when I visit torquay. My partner is fussy with Hotel, and he said he would stay again. The hotel was so quiet while we were staying here. The owner helped us make sure we found parking for our stay. He always greeted us by our names and always said morning to us. Highly recommended this hotel to anyone who is visiting torquay on hoilday or weekend away.

Hotel was as expected for a seaside town and one that caters for coach tours. Lady on front desk was very welcoming and efficient. There was plenty of parking. We didn't use the bar, but the prices seemed very reasonable. We didn't watch the entertainment, but it sounded like everyone was enjoying the show! Easy walk into town for an evening meal. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly portioned for us. Would stay again if we come back to Torquay, and recommend to others as a budget place to stay.

Lovely old style hotel. We had a sea room view that was beautiful. It wasn’t a cheap stay but it was August and we’d booked relative short notice. Rooms are adequate and very clean but probably not too far from needing renovating. Staff are lovely. Best location in Babbacombe. Good buffet breakfast. A few nice pubs and eateries around, and more in nearby Torquay.

No parking or dog fee as they mentioned previously which was great. Hotel room was very big. Suitable for families. Other hotels are double priced. For couple of days, great choice.

We have been transferred to partner hotel - Grand Hotel, so this is review for it. The standard room we had was very spacious with big bathroom. The décor is fine, although little shabby. The breakfast was buffet style and was good. Little extra is indoor pool and small gym, so if you have time you can spend it there. Overall happy with our visit.
