We enjoyed our stay at the Hartnoll Hotel. The staff are very helpful and friendly, we had a lovely room which was larger than we expected as it was called a "cosy double". The food was excellent, especially the homemade bread. Locationwise it is possible to walk about quarter of an hour along a footpath to arrive at Knightshays NT property, which is very well worth a visit.
One of Devon's most beautiful wedding venues and bed and breakfast breaks, this 14th century castle nestles in a valley surrounded by 30 acres of lush green land.

What did we like....EVERYTHING!!
I cannot find one 'single thing' to commend as Kim and Tim excelled beyond any expectations we had.
An Outstanding experience (so much so we will be returning for an annual visit where life allows it!).
Kim and Tim are amazing hosts, and are genuine decent people - incredibly homely and kind.
Henbere Farm ticked all the boxes of a quaint, remote, peaceful relaxing stay.
Spotlessly clean and immaculate throughout.
Absolutely what the doctor ordered. We are a couple in our 40's who went to Devon to see a Bon Jovi Tribute band at the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton - and to escape the rat race for a few days and wow did we achieve that!!
We found Henbere Farm by chance on a Google search and were so very lucky as what a beautiful wonderful place and family they are.
When we stayed, we were one of two guests in the two bedroom cottage and we made happy friendships with the other guests at morning breakfast.
Which by the way, is delicious and more than ample to set you up for the day.
Couldn't ask for more and beats a Premier Inn by billions of miles.
The gorgeous Devon farm is surrounded by endless fields and the most peaceful happy countryside, with plenty of sheep and cows chatting merrily away to themselves - what a dream mini break.
Literally could not have asked for anything more.
Bedrooms and accomodation was a home from home without the chores or to do list of life. So very comfortable, bed, light and airy rooms and very safe.
Bedrooms are up one flight of stairs as everything else is on ground level.
The other couple we stayed with were retired in their 60's and one had had a double knee replacement and didn't find any of the access an issue - they return annually!!
Situated in a fab place for an escape and a drive of between 15 and 45 minutes to see either more countryside, local pubs, rivers, walks or the towns a bit further away with lots to do...or if you prefer nothing to do!!

A beautiful location with great views.
Everything we expected and more.
Peaceful and restorative.
Fantastic garden and surroundings.
Tastefully furnished.
Loved the shower.
Electric bed to adjust for a good night's sleep.
Plenty of updates and clear instructions on how to reach the property.

The town is a bit down at heel, we found a great Italian restaurant though, might have been called ponte vechio, can't remember, tourist office is now in the museum, sadly the museum costs £8.50 with no discounts which I think is too expensive.
We did a self guided town tour and there are interesting buildings / histoy but no buildings open
They have a variety of shops including a department store, tesco m and s
Wetherspoons does cheap meals but is very busy and a dark building but ok for lunch

We live just over the Devon border in Somerset and Tiverton is a good location to shop if you want to go to different supermarkets or the indoor market for local produce. We went for an event, held in the pannier market, which was full of stalls and good food and drinks vendors. It is easy to get around Tiverton and people are friendly and helpful. Fantastic Tiverton Museum and trips along the Grand Western Canal Country Park.

Nice spacious room especially as we had two dog sleeping crates. Very pet friendly. Breakfast hot food was disappointing often not warm enough and or dried out from being under lamps too long. Restaurant menu was a bit limited which meant we ate away from the hotel most days

Tiverton is a Devon market town with a good atmosphere.
Tiverton is a Devon market town with a good atmosphere. Good location for days out to Exeter, Exmouth and near Knighthayes NT. Good transport facilities, railway is 6 miles out of town but bus service into Tiverton
A little gem. After a very wet day in Tiverton we returned to the Inn earlier than planned and were welcomed by lovely staff and shown to our rooms. The rooms were large and comfortable with everything you might need. We had a delicious meal on the evening and a fantastic breakfast. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We would love to stay again. The Inn is ideal location for coming off the motorway and being central it’s a place you could use as a base for travelling.
Beautiful property located in a very peaceful area approx 6 miles from Tiverton. A cream tea greeted us on arrival, and the Linhay provided everything that you could possibly need for a self catering holiday including a state of the art hot tub which overlooks the rolling hills of mid Devon. Would definitely recommend. The house boasts modern decor, two high end ensuite bathrooms, a wonderful kitchen and washing facilities. Briony was a fab hostess and we had a relaxing break.
It’s definitely the best home-hotel I’ve ever had during my traveling in the UK. The room is big and cozy and with all facilities I need. It’s close to the station too. I had to check out early so the hotel prepared me a big pack of breakfast.(I’m sorry I don’t know the gentleman’s name.) I really appreciate that…. Anyway, everything was perfect!!! It’s such a shame I just stayed there for one night,i hope I could go back Tiverton again:)
Lovely castle/ stately home to stay in. An absolute joy to have found. Quirkier and much more interesting than any chain hotel. And who doesn't want to tell their friends they've stayed in a castle.
Nice comfy room. Plenty of space outdoors, do seek out the trampoline if you are staying with kids.
Not all rooms are in the actual castle but the lodges and cottages, that we stayed in, are just as interesting.

This was a great find conveniently located close to the town center. The manager was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The facilities were VERY clean and the rooms were spacious. Manager went above and beyond to sort us out some breakfast as we had set off very early in the morning before the cooked breakfast was served. I would definitely use again when visiting Tiverton.
Wonderful location by the River Ex , the staff so helpful particularly Grace who went over the level of service , and the food was great
. A strong recommend from me . I have stayed in 100s of hotels mostly are dross and awful service . One wonders why they actually in the leisure industry.
This is rare gem , fantastic VFM in my mind .
The property looks even better in person than in pictures. We visited late September and the surrounding area was beautiful. The beds were so comfortable and warm. The hosts were amazing, they were helpful, welcoming and the welcome gift was delicious! The property was clean and well stocked with everything we needed.
Everything was just perfect for us. Parked opposite the property. Allowed to check in a bit early, well-equipped and spotless bedroom and bathroom, quiet at night (even though central). Amazing selection of teas for breakfast! Friendly host. We’ve stayed elsewhere in Tiverton and this was better value.
Well run. Friendly efficient staff. Five minute walk to Tiverton Town Centre. Warm and comfortable in biting cold conditions.
Good breakfast - again friendly helpful lady managing dining room. Lovely cleaning ladies and reception staff. Allows dogs.
Huge carpark with grass area around side.
Located in the centre of Tiverton and everything was very close by. Room small but breakfast good. Ideal for a night before paying golf at Tiverton Golf Club. Luckily managed to find free parking within 5 minute walk of hotel as there was no mid-week daytime parking at the guest house.
My second stay at Brambles was every bit as good as the first. Alison was very welcoming and every detail was thought of to make my room and stay comfortable. The full English breakfast was a treat. A peaceful location with lovely countryside views just a short distance from Tiverton.
Breakfast was plentiful and good. The location was excellent. Being able to wander through the castle buildings reading the history was fantastic. Close to the pleasant town of Tiverton, yet still in the quiet countryside.
Excellent room. Lovely host. Very clean. Very quiet.. I travel alot for work and this B+B is one of the nicest around...will definitely stay again if in the area...thanks..
