Beautiful hotel in a great location. Breakfast was great.
Our philosophy is to create a hotel which fulfills our idea of the perfect place to go and stay. This perfect place, whether restaurant or hotel, should be entirely in sympathy with its surroundings.

Breakfast was excellent. Love dogs and their dog was so cute but the dog was a wee bit too close while we were eating.

Thornhill itself is a small rural village with one main street, one pub,one shop and a garage. It is central for travelling in Trossachs and further,as well as Doune or Kippen .Thornhill is appx 40 minutes drive from Glasgow. You can go Alpacca riding ,locally or even spend a night in an ex Royal Navy Sea King helicopter if you wished to.Both Doune and Kippen have multiple places to get great wholesome food.Doune is a historic small town, with some quirky little shops. There is a pharmacy, hairdresser and a CO-OP store in Doune . I would advise NOT to buy fuel at Doune Garage, unless it is absolutely essential. The prices are higher than everywhere else !

Thornhill is a small, quiet rural village, very close to many tourist attractions. The village has a pub/hotel and village shop. Generally a very quiet location, with friendly locals. If you are a Foodie ,then Nick Nairn's is a short drive away and Kippen has two excellent Pubs. The Lion and Unicorn in Thornhill serves excellent food too.Be warned that the portiuons are not small. Plenty places to visit nearby, can even stay in a Sea King helicopter.

Thornhill is a small ,rural village with one village store. The village is on the route to Crianlarich,The Trossachs and Highlands too. There is a range of activities nearby and many interestong villages and small towns within short drive . If so inclined ,guests can stay on board an ex Royal Navy helicopter or a lifeboat. For those interested in good food there are many outlrts nearby. One of which is the Inn at Kippen. There is also a Garden Centre and several shops in Kippen.Several places for breakfast or just a coffee too. Doune is only about 5 miles away and has good shops as well as quirky little shops down a lane beside the Buttercup coffe shop. Doune is also home to a map making business.Harvey's is an interesting business. Thornhill has mobile Post Office and mobile Library once a week. Of course,Blair Drummond Safari Park is close by.
A gorgeous studio in Stirling / Thornhill with the most comfortable, luxurious beds we have ever stayed in! A lovely place to spend a night or two, with such warm welcoming hosts and an incredible village pub just down the road. Jane provided
a lovely breakfast and drinks making selections which was lovely, and was so helpful and kind to us. We loved it, thank you Jane and Tilly!🐾
The building is very old and quaint which we liked. Floors creaked and groaned and ceilings, doorways etc were rather low which is all part of the charm of this lovely hotel. But it would be remiss of us to not mention the lovely ladies providing service to the guests who were so helpful and friendly as they really added to the experience.
Excellent stay at the Lion & Unicorn Hotel. The food was amazing, all freshly cooked. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The room was immaculately clean and spacious. We highly recommend and will return.
The hotel was charming and very comfortable. The staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend anyone traveling in the area try to book a room there, you will love it.
Very friendly staff, great food and atmosphere. The manger was very nice and looked after us well, showing us around and what the hotel had to offer. Great breakfast in the morning too!
The apartment had easy access to Callendar, Aberfoyle and Loch Lomond. The pub in Thornhill provides excellent quality food and there is a lovely area for eating out.
The hotel is so warm and welcoming the room was clean and comfortable. we ate in the restaurant and the food was exceptional. We will definitely be returning.
