Laxton is a wonderful village in Notts and the accommodation at the Dovecote was first-class. We were attending a family get together in a nearby village. The continental breakfast in the room was more than adequate and suited our plans entirely. We will be coming back to explore the village further and partake of a meal in the pub.

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left there was a warm inviting atmosphere. The owners and staff were lovely..
The room was well decorated and spotlessly clean. We had all the facilities we required. The bed was comfortable which added to having a good night's sleep.
We eat there on both nights as the food was of such good quality and staff were very efficient and friendly.

Everything! The staff were polite and friendly, the pub attached is beautiful and so cosy. The room was clean and tidy, we were asked if we needed more tea/coffee/milk in the morning as we stayed 2 nights. The shower and bath were in perfect working order. Parking is ample and free. The area is so quite. Great value for money, especially compared to a chain hotel down the road I was originally going to book. If we're ever in the area again I would definitely re-book. 10/10
We were breaking up a long journey with an overnight stay and this was the perfect alternative to "motorway services" chain hotels. Our dogs were welcome, we had a fantastic dinner in the pub and the rooms were spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Although breakfast wasn't available on weekdays, the staff pointed us towards the village delicatessen for a bacon roll - Perfect!
It was ideal for me as I wanted an hotel that accepted dogs. I was booked into a room that was accessed from the residents car park , no stairs ,which was perfect. Booked an evening meal and breakfast at a time that suited me.
The beautiful hotel is full of character and is very welcoming. If you’re there on the weekend, do get the cooked breakfast as it is one of the best full English’s I’ve had.
Lovely Country Pup hotel with comfortable rooms that were lovely and clean. The staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic and great value for money.
