Excellent location downtown. Good jumping off point for exploring the area. And the guy that runs the place (I never did get his name) was really helpful with suggestions for places to see.

Room was very comfortable and well appointed; TV needed a wee bit of attention but then worked perfectly (previous guest had been fiddling with it!); breakfast was one of the best cooked breakfasts I have enjoyed when staying away from home - freshly cooked to order and very tasty! A big 10/10 - eggselent!

There are nice scenic spots to visit near / around Stranraer, such as Castle Kennedy gardens,
Port Logan, Logan House estate whose owner donated part of their gardens to become today’s Stranraer Logan Botanic Garden. You can also visit
Castle St John in the town centre, as well as the museum. You can even come to join us for African drumming fun every fortnightly Thursday ! I myself travel 3.5 hours every fortnight on Thursday to practise African drum with this group whose drumming standard is very very high ! Always great fun ! That’s why I am willing to travel 7 hours door to door for my drumming fun every two weeks !
And, although I bring my own home-cooked food here, I also eat at some nice bistros and cafes.

A small, interesting working town on the west bank of Loch Ryan, visited right at the beginning of the season. Henry's Bay House Restaurant is excellent for food and the Ryan Centre has a swimming pool as well as a theatre/cinema with a good programme. There is a great view of the loch and Stranraer is ideally situated for exploring all of Dumfries and Galloway. The people are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

The people.
The people. Roy came out of his store and greeted us and then walked us to two great places to eat. At the Caslte Hotel we were treated like royality. It was before supper time so they made fixed up our table and served us in style. The food and service was wonderful. David was our taxi driver for all our stay and was also a wonderful guide to the area.

Stranraer is a ferry port with good bus links to Dumfries.
Stranraer is a ferry port with good bus links to Dumfries. The tow, itself had a "sedate ' feel to it. Traffic was slow and polite. Lots of fish and chips shops. The central castle / tower house is the only place of interest and museum. Famous centre for curling with rink open in winter months.

Absolutely highly recommend this beautiful stylish hotel, very clean, great food with a warm welcome
Excellent location on the sea front and lots of parking spaces. Beautiful reception area and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was very spacious with a small table and two chairs, large comfy bed and good facilities. Evening meal was lovely, very tasty and well presented with good choices; as was breakfast the next morning, absolutely perfect. The dining room is beautiful and set out nicely. The bars were both superb to have a drink and relax. Absolutely highly recommend this charming hotel, simply one of the best we have stayed in! We will definitely return!
Staff were very attentive . Food was lovely . We had one evening meal in our two night stay . My husband had the portpatrick pie and i had katsu curry and we both had starters which again were lovely . The room was comfortouble and hotel is dog friendly ( alot of the staff loved our jack russell ) . There is a lovely memorial garden next door and we had a swim in the hotel pool . The hotel has kept it's traditional features . We would stay here again
Smooth transaction, great communication from host via email, huge comfortable bed and massive bathroom, tucked out of the way from the main house, will definitely stay again in the near future. FOC parking is on the street next to the property but its on a first come basis however this has never constituted a problem for me on my last several visits.
Beautiful location very near the Loch so peaceful. Pool was out of order when we were there soft play was nice. Caravan itself well equipped we were fortunate to have a really sunny warm relaxing breakfast on the veranda. Good size boiler very nice hot shower with plenty of pressure. And of course a corkscrew.
Great pricing and had everything needed for the perfect base camp of the getaway. The additional discount to their sister business, The Swan Inn. Staff being extremely warm, welcoming and friendly.
The area in which the aparment is situated as well as the free parking near by. Easy to get to.
Luxurious rooms and a hearty home-cooked breakfast. Beautiful décor and comfy beds. Decanter of whiskey in you room! Views overlooking the bay and the park. Stranraer is a lovely town, with high street, good restaurants, free museum, and free castle to explore. Parking is free and abundant.
Stranraer feels unloved, arriving at the outside of the hotel my husband pulled out his phone to see if we could find another hotel near by however ignore the appearance outside and go in you wont be disappointed. Family room was spacious (2 adults, 1 child) as was ensuite bathroom.
We had a lovely view of the yard from this small, but comfortable upstairs room. It was nice being on a farm and the location was perfect for an early trip to the ferry. We had a quiet and peaceful nights sleep. Parking was free and near the entrance.
Spacious comfy stop.
Nice outdoor space with a little view of the loch/inlet.
Very extensive dvd collection for movie nights.
Not too far from Stranraer, your best chance at groceries and restaurants (8-10 minute drive)
Very friendly staff, went above and beyond to help us to have a lovely stay. Fantastic cooked breakfast, lovely clean linnens and room, nice and spacous, great value for money with a pretty park and harbour near by.
This a gem of a hotel which is perfect for the cairnryan ferry or walks along the loch Ryan paths. It is in Stranraer and near the picturesque coast. The owners are extremely helpful abd friendly.
This is a very friendly hotel with excellent rooms and facilities. Great choice for breakfast and good value for money. Our room had a view over the sea. would definitely stay again.
Nicely decorated room with a good bathroom. Most seemed clean. Good location with food options nearby and close to Cairnryan ferry. Can self-check out really early which was useful.
Very cozy hotel. You could tell a lot of love and care went into the smallest detail.
The breakfast was hot and very good. Late check-in was very easy. No noise. 🥰🌻
