Hotel is historic and full of charm. Food is varied and delicious. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner twice each. Comfortable beds, rooms had robes and spa toiletries. Spa was lovely.

Friendly warm welcome on arrival. Signed initial paperwork, given instructions for time of breakfast in the morning, keys to room and front door, and, where room located which found easily. Sumptuous elegant double bed and large light and airy ensuite with bath and separate shower. Non-slip mat supplied for the shower tray with cork board and towel when stepping out. Toiletries and, a good array of refreshments provided which were topped up daily as required. The breakfast room tables were always immaculate. Loved the array of condiments with assorted jams, toppings, fresh fruit, and cereals on the dresser. Delicious fayre from a diverse and plentiful menu. Happy, attentive yet unobtrusive staff came to take breakfast orders. Light relaxing lounge provided with a small bar. Noticed a small library. Other delightful details were the two golden throne like chairs in the upper hallway near my room. Take a look at the photographs on the left at the top of the first floor stairs - a testament to the family who bought the house and turned it into a most divine hotel. Notice the difference between August and September 1986 of the incredible building work achieved. Highly recommend.

Brilliant location with parking. Comfy bed. Despite being in pub car park, we weren't disturbed by external noise at night.

After a bit of meandering (on foot) to find the place, I was pleasantly surprised. It is an old building (Tudor?) but the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the cotton linens soft, there were even robe and slippers in the room. The breakfast was good, the lady who greeted me and served breakfast was friendly and welcoming. Overall it was a great one night stay.
