The proximity to Stamford Town center, it was 12 minute walk, with Private parking and my own private entrance.
The room offered everything I needed, a home away from home. Spotlessly
clean, light, bright and airy. Local art & images adorned the walls. Excellent provision of instant and ground fresh coffee, teas, sugars etc. loads of fresh milk, butter, jams, 3 options on breakfast cereals. Full size fridge, microwave and toaster. Rachel
popped in to say hello and check I was all sorted.

It is a stunning town, with great historical architecture, and all the shops have been carefully designed to blend in as much as possible. There is a wonderful array of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, and a street market (which I missed), and I wish I could have stayed longer. It is very lovely to walk around, with wonderful views and buildings around every corner. I came specifically for the International Music Festival, which I enjoyed thoroughly. It is also an extremely dog friendly town, with many cafes, bars and restaurants welcoming dogs. I hope to return for a longer visit - soon.

Stamford is a beautiful Georgian market town with lots of things to do and places to visit nearby. Shopping is very enjoyable as there are plenty of independent shops as well as the usual clothing chains. The Friday open air market was excellent and there were lots of bargains to be had. The choice of restaurants and cafes was very good. We can recommend Amore for its Italian cuisine and Kancchi for Indian/ Nepalese food, but would advise that you book in advance if possible.

I love old character buildings and this certainly is a lovely old character building.
The location is good with most amenities in Stamford within a ten to fifteen minute walk.
On site parking is a bonus.
Would I stay again ? Yes, very much so, whilst there were a couple of little niggles overall I enjoyed the experience.

Easy to get around hills are gentle and manageable for those with limited walking. The Hong Kong Chinese restaurant is very good, but needs to be booked as tables go quickly. Street market on Fridays and a lots of boutique shops. The St Martins Antique centre offers a extensive range of interesting collectables.
Premium Taxis are very reasonable £3.00 from the High Street back to the William Cecil Hotel.

Close by we visited Barnsdale Gardens and Rutland water.
Excellent location, ideal for visiting Stamford and Burghley House, both of which are walking distance from the hotel. Really welcoming staff, special thanks to James (Operations Manager) for his friendly hospitality - most appreciated. The food was excellent (breakfast and dinner) and the outside terrace was perfect on a hot summers day. We will return.
Wonderful relaxing evening.Staff super friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. We didn’t require dinner but staff created delicious cheese platter for us which we were able to enjoy sitting by the fire with a quality glass of wine.
The pub/hotel is set in a beautiful picturesque village and so convenient to Stamford.
The house is lovely. Room was sparkling clean, spacious, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was spotless. Katie is really nice and she offered a delicious breakfast. Location was incredibly convenient, 2min away (if that) from the station, and a short walk to Stamford's city centre.
Great location just a short walk out of the town centre, so lovely and quiet. Historical building with lots of original features. Very efficient and friendly staff. Excellent local real ales on hand pumps. Always a well presented, tasty breakfast. A Stamford favorite of ours.
