Breakfast was amazing. My room was small but very comfortable. Staff were amazing. Cal lent us a tie when one of our colleagues forgot theirs! Even the housekeeping team offered to help me downstairs with my luggage. I can honestly say the staff are awesome.

It's been some years since my last visit to South Shields and hopefully it won't be as long until next time. Shields is a great family place. The beaches are stunning and you are spoiled for choice for places to eat and drink. We only had 3 nights and had an 11 month baby with us but we managed to get to the Rattler, Harbour Lights,Ruhindi, Spanish Italian and my son and daughter in-law went to the Sand Dancer. Everywhere was great and the restaurant staff in all venues could not have been more welcoming and attentive especially to the baby. We also managed a trip to Marsden Grotto. Fabulous. Well worth a visit.

South Shields is a coastal town with beautiful golden beaches and a fairground close to the Littlehaven hotel. There is a Roman fort only a 20 minute walk from the hotel. Very easy access to Newcastle City using their Metro system. Great to visit castles in Northumberland or the Beamish site in Durham.

My mobility scooter gave me freedom to get round so I took full advantage of that. We went along the front from the Little Haven hotel
Saw the conversation stones then went along to the amusements and rides, about to open and staff very cheery despite the windy weather. We crossed over to the park and it was,
at this point we decided we had to return in the future and bring the young ones as,they would have great fun with so much to do. Pleasantly surprised at the number of eateries and the different choices of meals. Stopped at a lovely Cafe overlooking the beach for a hot drink before going back to the hotel.I would highly recommend South Shields for a break away

Use South Sheilds as a base to visit the North East Coastline and towns. Sadly South Sheilds town centre is very run downand lacks any good shops and bars.
On the positive the beach front is excellent and well maintained and for the Curry lovers Ocean Road has many fabulous Indian restaurants.
I would highly recommend Cafe India and for Beach side drink the Sandancer.

An outstanding seaside town that, if it was on the South coast of England would be the most fashionable resort, beating Brighton hands down. It's got history, superb beaches, cliff top walks, quirky pubs, wildlife and very friendly people

South Shields has a stunning coastline, lovely parks,...
South Shields has a stunning coastline, lovely parks, interesting history and has an excellent range of restaurants and shops and good public transport. It's a friendly welcoming place. The main streets are easy to negotiate on foot as the layout is mainly straight lines/grid ? from its Roman history. There's a museum and art gallery, an information centre with a great section of archive material. All in all a lovely place to visit.
Lovely 2 night stay at the Clifton. Perfect location, right in the centre of all attractions, shops, pubs and short walking distance to the beach. Room was good size, spotless clean. Entrance doors were keyless, we used codes to get in. Breakfast was lovely, a lot to select from. Coffee shop itself was lovely decorated, made you feel cosy and warm. Staff was lovely and helpful. Car park just outside the hotel, street parking, no charges applies. Everything was spot on, we will definitely visit again
Spotlessly clean 3 bed apartment on a very quiet road just 5 minutes from the beach at South Shields. Free parking right outside and handy shops 5 minutes away. We cooked one night and both breakfasts. It had everything we needed.
Well located so we could get to Sunderland and Newcastle very easily. Nice to walk around the local area too. Communication from the host was outstanding throughout. Would definitely stay here again.
The property was in a great location, a short walk to the promenade and as we had a concert it was easy to get to the stadium by taxi. The staff got back to you via message or call as the hotel is not manned. The codes and access were easy to navigate and staff were polite. There was tea and coffee stocked up and overall I would say a comfortable stay apart from some slight niggles.
I liked the location in the centre of South Shields, near to restaurants and shops. I liked the cleanliness of the hotel, the provision of an equipped kitchen easily accessible for hot drinks. I liked my room, warm, comfortable and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with fluffy towels and complimentary shower gel and shampoo. I liked that I felt extremely secure in the room.
The room itself was ok but the bathroom really could’ve done with a bit of an update. The location and the owner were lovely. I can’t really grumble too much as it is really cheap. If your looking for 5 star accommodation this isn’t the place, however if you’re looking for something cheap and cheerful then your in luck.
A really warm welcome after a 4 hour drive was really nice considering it was late. Check in was slick and easy and the security of the hotel was really good with pin yale locks on the front door and all room doors. Morning breakfast was tasty (I had scrambled eggs) and service was very nice.
Everything was great, a good clean, warm and comfortable room, comfy bed and great bathroom with a cracking hot power shower.. Duncan was a fantastic host and the breakfast spot on. If I'm staying in South Shields then this will be my first port of call.
A lovely little Guest House in a great location on Ocean Road. The hosts Lorraine and Andrew were really welcoming and very helpful.
If we return to this area, would love to stay at this place once again.
The location was excellent, no roads to cross to access the beach.South Shields has all facilities for a holiday, bars, restaurants, parks, fair within a short walk. Most venues are dog friendly.
The location is perfect for a stay at the beach, especially with very hot weather. From the South Shields Metro station there is also a convenient connection to the city.
