On arrival the reception staff were very good. They were friendly and very helpful.
The room itself was excellent. It was in a great position with views over the lawns and beach.
Breakfast was also excellent with attentive staff, hot food and large variety of alternative foods.

The staff were nice and friendly, but felt they were stretched too thin - cleaning away after breakfast, cleaning rooms and covering reception. The restaurant evening meal (although a limited menu) and breakfast were lovely. The shower in the room was the best part of the stay.

The apartment was comfortable and had all I needed. I really liked the layout and the views were spectacular. Excellent location too.
The owner was so friendly and accommodating. She left a complimentary breakfast for us too, which was lovely.

Nardinis ice cream parlour and fish and chip premises is rightly famous, well worth a visit. So is the lovely Haylies hotel farther on for steak etc. The Seamill Hydro next door is a fab hotel with a lovely pool but does loads of weddings. There is lots more too.
There is the wonderful nearby coastal walk near Portencross and a castle there to see.

I found Seamill Hydro to be very comfortable. I have a nice large bathroom which was well appointed. I enjoyed using the spa facilities. The food was good, not fancy just good. The is a lovely beach walk to enjoy as well.

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding next door in the Seamill Hydro, it was a 3 minute walk at the end of the night along a brightly lit road. The hotel was immaculate, not one thing was dirty or out of place. Staff very helpful, we ended up booking a second room last minute and so didn't have dinner booked but the staff made it happen for us. Thank you!
Less than a 20-minute walk and you are in the town centre as well as a beach right beside you and lovely views of the water. Had a great stay.
I loved that this is a gathering place for locals to take Gran out for a posh tea or kids to the pool. Local families having a break together rather than fly by night tourists like us! It was relaxing yet jolly, luxurious yet affordable. Note we rolled in covered in dust from Ayrshire music festival at a distant farm, we looked very eccentric and yet the staff were as welcoming as to the folks in their Sunday best.
Stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago .seemed better quality then .the room was fine but needing dusted ,mirrors, behind TV etc
The restaurant seemed understaffed at dinner with the some of the waiters actually running around which made me feel reluctant to ask them anything
At breakfast had to approach head waiter to have someone to take our breakfast order after sitting for quite some time
Nothing - I booked through booking.com NS THERE WERE TWO OPTIONS FOR THE BOOKING AT DIFFERENT PRICES. LESSER PRICE INDICATED WE WOULD NEED TO CANCEL ON 21ST dEC - THE MORE EXPENSIVE OPTION OFFERED CANCELLATION FOR FREE UP TO 2359 ON 22ND. THIS WAS THEN CHANGED WHEN INFORMATION WAS RECEIVED FROM THE HOTEL.

Breakfast was fresh and tasty, lots of choice.
Dinner was a bit disappointing as with still 2 hours of service left, 2 of main meal choices were off the menu.
Friend ordered Nachos, came without sour cream as ‘ they didn’t have any ! ‘ was offered Yoghurt instead which was declined …… Yoghurt on nachos ???????
The staff were lovely, the view was absolutely amazing, and the room was spacious and clean (apart from a few minor things). The room itself was warm due to hot weather however the hotel provided a fan which was also great.
Hotel is in fantastic condition, can only think it is recently refurbished. Excellent location a stones throw from the beach.
