Set in a converted cluster of fisherman’s houses along Portree Harbor the hotel offers plenty of character and quirks. There are 17 bedrooms with attached bathroom with all expected facilities.

Great location right by the Portree bay, the staff was very nice and welcoming. Nice bright room overlooking the bay.
If you are looking for luxury accommodations with great Highland Hospitality in Skye, then look no further than historic Skeabost House Hotel, a family owned boutique hotel, part of the Sonas Hotel...

The check-in process was fast and the staff were helpful.
The restaurant offers a sumptuous and soul satisfying lamb dish.
The property has a charm that only a heritage property can provide.
The bed was surprisingly comfortable to sleep in

Beautiful new hotel, price on the higher side vs what you can get in the island, like Edinbane Inn or Three Chinneys. It should have been 30% cheaper for it to be value for money.

Magical and secluded location, delicious breakfast and dinner, extremely comfortable bed, accommodating staff, and beautifully decorated rooms with well-stocked amenities. We loved our stay, despite the higher price point, Monkstadt is a charming gem full of history! If we're ever back in Skye, we will definitely look to stay at Monkstadt again. Highly recommended!
On average, 3-star hotels in Portree cost ₪ 857 per night, and 4-star hotels in Portree are ₪ 1,162 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Portree can be found for ₪ 1,101 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Portree is lovely. We visited in early may and the crowds were mostly manageable. I would be a little concerned in the heart of the season. My suggestion to the powers that be would be to consider shuttle busses to the popular sites from centralized collection points; discourage rental cars from driving to the sites independently in some way. The small roads and on-site car parks can become overly crowded. We couldn't get near Quiraing for the traffic on the winding one lane road. In all other respects, Skye and Portree are lovely and a pleasure to visit.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Skyelight Apartment is at a great location, very near to Portree town centre, maybe 1-minute walk. Nicely furnished, warm and cozy. Note though there is no washing machine. Otherwise, a wonderful accommodation.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.
The property is located conveniently in the heart of Portree. We ate dinner at the restaurant the first night and it was amazing (I had the pork belly dish). On Tuesday evenings at 8:00 pm, the local bag pipers play outside the hotel - which adds to the charm of this hotel. Parking is a bit challenge (especially when carrying big bags) - the best place is behind the yellow painted hostel (about £4 for 24 hours). Our room was on the 3rd floor - which there is no lifts, so carrying those heavy bags to the room was a workout!
Location was very good. Easy to walk to restaurant s and shops. Breakfast was good with home made items and plenty of options. Had off street parking. The hosts Andy and Liam were great, very friendly and a virtual font of useful information that helped us a lot to maximize our enjoyment of Skye. The room was quiet with a comfortable bed and a well equipped bathroom with an excellent shower. Only place we stayed in Scotland that had USB chargers in outlets to charge iPhones. This was a great place to stay in Portree.
Kisteen and Amy made us feel at home the moment we walked through the door. Stonefield House feels more like a boutique hotel than a B&B. The rooms were spotless and the bed very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent and set us up for a full day of walking. Providing a decanter of whisky for an evening tipple was a lovely touch. Stonefield House is located in a peaceful spot, but is less than a a 10 minute walk from the centre of Portree, so no problems at all with parking.
Out of all of our beautiful stays on our trip to Scotland, this one was our favorite. We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room each morning and enjoyed our tea with a view right from our room. Our hosts were so kind and offered history and suggestions on what to do and where to eat in the area. The walk into town was short and scenic! We loved meeting Alex & Alan's dog Oatie too! Thanks for a wonderful stay in Portree.
Great location close to Portree, nice and clean rooms, cosy central hall with the fireplace. Great selection of drinks in the bar. Good tasty breakfast! Employees were super nice, shoutout to Emma and the guy at the bar who gave us a lot of recommendations for walks and things to see around the isle. Price is quite high given Scottish standards, but on the Isle of Skye, this is a great deal. Would certainly recommend!
The Apartment was a great place for our short stay on the Isle of Skye.
Allocated Parking Space for Each Apartment, to the left of them meant everyone had close access.
Basic Tea/Coffee provided on arrival. Able to cook our meals and Sky Access on the TV, appreciated.
Bedroom was comfortable.
10 minute walk takes you to the harbour heart of Portree where Restaurants and Food shop are available.
Would Recommend.
Could not fault the whole stay at the Portree. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean and well maintained. Though my room was a little small it was very clean and adequate. My 2 friend's who moved to Skye last year had not eaten at the hotel before but we all agreed the food was excellent and they will come back with their friend's. I will stay here again next time I visit my friends on Skye.
Good location in the middle of the higland and near to Portree (10 minutes by car) where you cam found market, pub and restaurants.
It was perfetc for our roadtrip in the higlands.
It’s a camping pod not a hotel room so you don’t expect alle the conmfort that you can found in a usal hotel.
The Staff is fantastic, they were always available from the booking and they help us with all our request
We spent 4 nights here for our Skye trip and everything was absolutely perfect! We really appreciated the milk, eggs, bread, cheese and all the other goodies to start us off before going to the grocery store. Bed was the comfiest out of all the other places we stayed in Scotland. The Isle of Skye was so magical, we hope to come back and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again!
We were very lucky to book this hotel at short notice after our previous booking at another hotel was cancelled 2 days before our holiday due to COVID related staff shortages. We struck lucky, the Calendonian was a lot cheaper, in a better location in Portree centre and very comfortable. Very friendly helpful staff, superb breakfast and clean recently refurbished room.
Adelaide’s was right in the center of Portree- so central and convenient to everything. the apartment is so cute and so clean. we have been staying in hotel rooms on our trip and it was so nice to have more room to spread our. The breakfast of pancakes, cereal, fruit, cheese and yogurt was such a treat! I would definitely recommend staying at Adelaides!
Beautiful view from room out to Portree Harbour. Very comfy bed! Got parked for free right outside the hotel. Reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good and smart TV in room was a nice bonus. The building is very old and so is higgelty piggelty but it adds to the charm. Great for our one night stay in Portree.
Accommodations and staff are amazing! Location is perfect with beautiful views of Loch Portree and mountains; close to town. Incredible breakfasts included in the price (just a short walk up private drive to the Cuillin Hills Hotel). Mini bar and hot tub. Highly recommend.
Mery and Les were very good hosts, they gave us tips to access Portree, where to have the best ice-cream and which places to explore in Skye.
We were also very satisfied with our breakfast, and we had our first tattie scone in Scotland and it was delicious.
Location was great with access to all parts of northern Skye and quick trips into Portree. Wonderful views of the harbour and quiet (little to no road noise despite being close the the main road into Portree).
Fantastic views and location on Portree harbour. Whilst the hotel is extremely basic it was comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and generally a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Really great location on Isle of Skye next to portree. Really nice privacy and next to stag farm so you can see wildlife outside your window. Lots of space and big kitchen.
Our room was so comfortable. The dining room had an amazing view of Portree and the food was delicious. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Skye.
