The level of personal and attentive service was exemplary. I have worked in many 5 star hotels and stayed in countless more but rarely have we experienced such excellent and warm service!
The food was another example of the detail to attention and quality of produce used to prepare the dishes. Amazing all around.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! The owners were very courtesy and welcoming. The food was terrific, and the location was so beautiful, especially the garden. We were upgraded to a larger room and could not have been happier! I would definitely return for a longer stay.

Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult...
Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult even off season. The streets are narrow and parking is very limited. There is a free carpark in Gerrans (10 min up hill). It is a very touristy town but still retains a lot of its old world charm. Lots of little, expensive shops, one pub, a few cafes and a convenience shop for necessities. The coast path runs right through Portscatho and there are some wonderful walks to be had. Also several beaches to be explored, usually at low tide only. Well worth a visit close by are St Mawes, Veryan, Melinsey Mill near Veryan, St Anthony Head and St Just in Roseland church, The Hut cafe is a short walk from Portscatho on the coast path.

Porthscatho is the very best of the quintessential English coast line. Naturally beautiful, clean beaches. Safe for children to play. Equally Good for paddle boarding or canoeing. Or just to chill and read a book.

I loved the location of Portscatho surrounded by the beach with beautiful picturesque walks along the beach with the quaint cottages with manicure gardens to admire as you walked by. I was lost for word at the stunning awesome beauty of the landscape where Portscatho sits and can only imagine wanting to live in one of those idealic cottages. Two words some up this magnificent place, incredible stunning.

Very good pub called the Plume and Feathers. Nice walks .
Very good pub called the Plume and Feathers. Nice walks . Couple of very interesting art galleries and a craft centre. Good general shop for everything . Several nice walks start there and it is also a good base for exploring the whole Roseland .
Regulars at what was the Roseland House Hotel back in the 80s, we have wanted to return to the hotel in its new guise for a long time. It did not disappoint. Opened the room door to see the colour of the turquoise sea, and then straight down to the beach. Back up for a cream tea, which was a mistake as the scones were huge and we had booked quite an early dinner in the restaurant. Walked down the lane at night to the main beach under the starriest sky. Very glad that this little corner of the world is pretty much unchanged.
This place is very special indeed.
The position of this hotel by the sea is almost impossible to outdo! The garden is life enhancing.
It has a warmth and embraces it’s guests.
The beds are deliciously comfortable with the finest linen.
The swimming pool is a great place to exercise in. Warm and loads of hot water to shower with afterwards …fluffy towels to dry off with.

The Rosevine is essentially a country house residence that has been adapted as a hotel that gives the large rooms with self catering facilities. However there is an integral restaurant that provides excellent breakfast and dinners with an adjoining area to eat if you have your dog with you - as we did.
Breakfast was good but would like to see Kippers on Menu. Location was good, size of room very good. Service was good attentive maybe a little too personal. The daily clean of room was very satisfactory and the Hotel itself was very nice.
The location is absolutely perfect, amazing views, and the staff is generally very helpfull and welcoming. Breakfast was wonderfull and the hotel is beautifully placed for walks by the ocean, and sightseeing.
One of our favourite West Country hotels that we have enjoyed on several previous occasions.
Stunning location with very helpful and friendly staff. One of the very best restaurants in the SW.
Clean cosy room.
High quality bedding.
Lovely bath & shower.
Warm welcome from management team who were very friendly & helpful as were all the hotel staff.
Beautiful location and views.
