Featuring a magnificent academic heritage, Oxford is a beautiful city where Gothic spires intermingle with medieval colleges. The home to England’s oldest university, most of the 38 unique colleges are sadly only viewable from the outside. Two that you can visit are Magdalen College, considered one of the most beautiful, and Christchurch College whose quadrangle was used in the 1st Harry Potter film. Its cathedral choir also sings evensong.
Other notable colleges are Balliol and Merton, the 2 oldest, while Hertford College has the Bridge of Sighs. Next door is the cavernous Bodleian Library, overlooking the round Radcliffe Camera, the city’s best-known landmark.
The university also has a botanical garden and the best Oxford museums, including the Ashmolean Museum and Natural History Museum, where swifts nest in summer.
Unsurprisingly for a student town, it has lots of bars and restaurants. Oxford shopping is also good and includes England’s oldest covered market, brightly colored High Street shops, and the Clarendon and Westgate shopping centers.
Whether you arrive by road or fly into London Oxford Airport, don’t leave without trying Oxford punting. In contrast to rival Cambridge, you punt here by standing in the front (rather than on the back). Easily accessed from the Oxford accommodations on Booking.com, the routes take in the River Cherwell and the Isis (the name for this part of the Thames).

Old Banbury Road is adjacent to Woodstock Road and I have never experienced such heavy traffic outside of London. It took me one and a quarter hours to get to Blenheim Palace for a concert. I wouldn’t go to that area again.

Fantastic place to visit, the colleges were beautiful and all quite close together. The indoor market is really interesting with a great choice of shops. Lots of busses to get you around if you don't walk. The Natural History museum is worth a look at.

I love Oxford. It is a step back into time.
I love Oxford. It is a step back into time. I’ve come many times and the only complaint I have is the homeless population seems to be growing. Hope all cities can find a compassionate way to deal with this growing problem especially in a beautiful city like Oxford. I do feel much safer there than in London which I try to avoid.

Absolutely lovely city, but quite expensive, and it has become very touristy since I last visited some 15 years ago lol. The Ashmolean museum is a must (HUGE so wear some comfy shoes), and if you don't want to spend too much just go walking around because the beautiful colleges and houses are all around you. I visited the Bodleian library, which is very beautiful but you don't get to see that many rooms, and Christ Church (same really). I went on a tour to the Costwolds (nice), just wished I had time to go to Woodstock and visit Blenheim Palace which looks terrific!
Do be careful when getting your bus tickets though - there is an app but some tickets aren't valid anytime anywhere, and only for like 15 minutes...

Oxford is a very nice, clean place with a very pleasant ambience, and historic significance. Commuting with public transport is a pleasure, though we missed an equivalent of the 49 Euro ticket in Germany. The city presents buildings of tasteful architecture, free museums of high educational value and enough options for leisure as well.
Our room was clean and had all the essentials. Staff were friendly and helpful. The decor in the downstairs area was really lovely and colourful. Breakfast was good and they had decent vegetarian options, although it finished quite early (9am). They also allowed me to check out 30 mins late as I had a work meeting in the morning which I wanted to take from the room. Also, the price is really good for Oxford which is generally quite expensive for hotels. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel with regular buses going to the city centre.
Everything. The staff were extremely friendly, except for one girl who worked the bar in the evening, she was very miserable. Daniel on the reception desk was lovely as was Alfie who worked the bar in the evening. The location was great because the park and ride was literally over the road so we walked there and got the bus straight into Oxford City Centre. The food was great, the breakfast had plenty of choice and was always hot. We ate at the hotel in the lounge area every evening and there were plenty of choices on the menu.
Had to rearrange the date for our booking after the deadline for cancelling our original booking, which they were happy to accomodate without penalty. The staff all did their best throughout the stay.
Room was fine, the garden was very pleasant to sit in, breakfast while not as extensive a range as some hotels was just what we needed.
Walking distance to the city centre, which was good as parking in the centre is very expensive.
Would stay again for a city break in Oxford.
Fabulous little hotel ideally located for exploring Oxford. Blenheim Palace a short car ride away as is the Pear tree Park and ride which (in 2023) cost only £5 for 2 of us to park & bus into the city centre.
Lovely friendly staff and a very delicious breakfast. Free parking on site was a great bonus. Would stay again and recommend :)
This hotel is a great find. Located right in the city centre, within a very beautiful listed building, it’s perfect for exploring Oxford. Great coffee shop a few doors down where you can grab a pastry for breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful in allowing us to store our bags after checkout
Located in a much peaceful and calm area. But easy to commute.
Bus stop is 5 minutes away from the hotel to go to the city. Every 12 minutes service. 15 minutes bus drive to reach the Oxford city centre.
Very Good Breakfast with all egg options.
Provided couple of hours late checkout option.
Hotel location was very good and easy access to the Oxford city centre by public transport. The parking was limited however we were able to use 24 hour public car parking. Easy to access anytime. There are some cafes and restaurants around and has very independent feel. Great locals!
For the difficult situation Oxford is in regarding hotels this is a gem in a very good location (10 min walk into city centre), good, comfy rooms, extremely friendly and helpful staff, a great breakfast and generally a good atmosphere. Highly recommended.
The room is clean and the breakfast was exceptionally good. Extremely convenient to park outside the hotel and it’s complimentary. Overall, a wonderful stay and will definitely recommend to people who wants to stay outside the Oxford city Centre.
Location. The hotel is very well located, it has been renovated in the last few years. The bed was as expected comfortable, Afternoon teas were good. Very useful having a secure parking space in central Oxford.
The location couldn't have been more central and the hotel had a lot of character, situated in an old building in the heart of Oxford. The tea/coffee making facilities were good with nice biscuits.
The hotel is a 5min drive from Oxford Parkway. Huge enough for 6 luggages to fit in a studio room. Comfortable bed, clean room and lovely amenities. There are nice refreshments by the lobby as well.
It was a great stay i really enjoyed the customer service. Great Support from Josh and Diana. They were very supportive. I highly recommend easyhotel to anyone who is staying in oxford!
The hotel is in the centre of Oxford, in a quiet side street off from High Street. The place is spotless and very well maintained, the personnel very helpful.
