A well-equipped clean room in a hotel which is full of character. We first stayed in this hotel over 40 years ago and in giving the rooms a fantastic make over it is great that much of the history of the building has been retained.

I loved the three rooms that made up this overnight stay.
I loved the three rooms that made up this overnight stay. The fridge was a massive bonus. Very comfortable and carefully decorated. The surrounding countryside was beautiful. Loved watching the cows in the morning just outside the property!

The town itself didnt seem to have alot going for it.
The town itself didnt seem to have alot going for it. Most shops were shut and the food options were poor. I stood at the bar at the Fountain Inn for 10 minutes waiting for a staff member to appear and no one did.

Okehampton was a cosy little place.
Okehampton was a cosy little place. The people seem exceptionally friendly.
Ma'ida was a good meal and you can bring your own booze from the nearby Lidl... if you're exceptionally stylish, like what we are.

Okehampton is typical of most small market towns, there are a couple of nice pubs, not many places to eat except the two pubs and takeaways. The Town Hall, opposite the White Hart, is a beautiful building, there are some pleasant walks around Simmons Park and the Castle is worth a visit. The railway has reopened with trains running to Exeter which is fantastic, although when we went, the train we were going to come back on was cancelled, which was annoying when there is only one an hour.

We picked up a local leaflet for Okehampton from our hotel, which gave an enjoyable walk around the main points of the town and brief details of some history. There are numerous coffee shops, hotels and other places for a coffee and/or snack. Lots of independent shops in the little arcades and along the high street.
We got the warmest of welcomes from Natasha when we got to the Seven Stars, with a cup of tea on arrival.
Our room was small, but with everything we needed and very clean and newly decorated.
Both Natasha and Colin were attentive hosts, clearly very proud of their B&B, which they have renovated from scratch.
We had a lovely supper, with a roaring log fire going in the dining area.
Breakfast was just as good.
The village and church were lovely.
The cottage was very well equipped with everything you could ask for. The hosts really have thought of everything. It was spotless on arrival and Sarah and Paul were excellent hosts.
The cottage is in an excellent location to be able to explore everything that Devon has to offer. We explored the local area including cycling the Granite Way and went further afield to Westward Ho! and Lynton and Lynmouth - all with in easy reach.
All of it. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and well maintained. Bathroom had a large modern shower and was equally spacious. Likewise the dining room was well decorated and maintained and the cooked breakfasts were spot on. I would thoroughly recommend this guest house and would be my first place to check if/when I next visit Okehampton. Thank you for you lovely service and welcome.
Wonderful spacious house in a quiet, peaceful location on the north edge of Dartmoor National Park. Large well equipped kitchen and dining area, large living room with big comfortable sofa. Walking paths into the park minutes from your door, big grassy back yard great for kids or an outdoor meal. A little off the beaten path, but an excellent value.
The staff was very friendly and smiley! The room was simple and inexpensive, which was all I needed as a solo traveler. Best for backpackers and budget travelers. Wifi worked great. No issues with check-in/out, breakfast, keys, bathroom, etc. Nice wooded area -- 40 min walk along paths to Okehampton, and 20 min to Meldon Viaduct. I would stay again.
The hospitality was first rate! The room was lovely and very clean. It was also really nice that an evening meal or drink is available if you want it, especially after a long journey in our case. The service was so personal and the hosts extremely attentive. Overall a lovely stay in a tiny Devon village with exceptional hosts.
An oasis of calm in Devon . The owner and my South African host gave me a wonderful welcome. Check in was efficient and friendly . Room was well appointed. Awesome rain shower. And bath tub. Beautiful location with some outstanding restaurants nearby. Breakfast was definitely the highlight of my stay. I will return.
The Tors is in a delightful village right on Dartmoor, and has been beautifully refurbished in the last 2 years. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. The owner of the pub is delightful -- gracious, smart, and a font of knowledge about the area.
Peace and quiet area, lovely surroundings. Town centre nearby with enough facilities, shops, sightseeings, etc.. The location is perfect and connected with the rest of Devon and Cornwall to see and enjoy the fantastic coastline and countryside.

Knole farm is on the outskirts of a Devon village, very quiet, beautiful views from the garden. We were welcomed warmly by the host, had a very comfortable room and enjoyed an excellent breakfast! Would definitely return!
Great location as we were cycling the Devon Coast to Coast. However the staffing issues meant tricky to get hold of towels that we wanted to hire and some delay in getting into the room. However we enjoyed our stay.
Breakfasts were very good served by friendly staff. The family room was a very good size and suited our purposes very well.
The location was great and allowed us to venture out on day trips in Devon and Cornwall.
Breakfast was fantastic. The location just across the road from Dartmoor is excellent - you can go for a hike without needing to drive anywhere first. The hotel is cozy and quiet.
The location was perfect for exploring the whole of Devon as it was very central and close to the A30. Kelvin and Sue were great hosts, and Sue's scones were the best.
Friendliness of the hotel staff...brilliant welcome.
Separate hotel and reception from the main pub area.
Room was very well equipped and comfy and quiet.
