Lovely hotel, the staff are lovely.
Our daughter was poorly in the morning and they brought me tea and toast to our room so I could eat before leaving and stay with her.
Excellent value for money

The only thing that beat the location and facilities was the host Nicola!
She made the whole process and stay seamless and very memorable. We will definitely be returning! Thank you Nicola!

On arrival we were warmly greeted by Vance, who kindly offered to help us with our luggage.
They room was spotlessly clean with an amazing ensuite shower room, which looked as though it had recently been fully refurbished.
After a peaceful night, we were treated to an excellent breakfast, personally prepared by David, as good as any we've served in a 5* Hotel. Topped off with a fabulous pot of coffee, as we took in the expansive views of the countryside and watched the donkeys.

Gave us great directions to find the property easily! Very friendly owners and happy to help with anything!
Loved how close the hot tub was to the door. Very quiet area, nice walks, definitely recommend

The pub is very old and you expect the character to reflect that. The bed was large clean and comfortable. The room was basically clean but corners such as window frames and show edges needed a good scrub. The food was very good, breakfast and evening meals you couldn’t fault. The big let down was lack of comfortable seating in the whole pub. The whole pub breakfast room bar and dining area just had a mix of old recycled dining chairs. Not one relaxing area to sit in. It seems the intent is eat and go. Manngenent need to look at the bigger picture., especially for there staying guests who only have their bedrooms to retire to. It needs some sort of comfortable area .we wouldn’t stay again because of this.

We only drove in and out of the village as we went off to the coast during the day and then back to the Kings Head Hotel for a drink and followed by chilling out in our room before enjoying an evening meal.
However we were surprised at how busy the junction was outside the Kings Head.

Delicious fish and chips in the nearby fish and chip shop.
Delicious fish and chips in the nearby fish and chip shop. Didn’t get to try the pub as it was so popular we couldn’t get a table - better luck next time! Next time we’d also like to try the tea room as it sounds lovely. Would definitely like to explore the area more.

I liked knowing something of the history of the place.
I liked knowing something of the history of the place. It was very old and had been a place for horse and coaches. You can see and get the feel of how it might have been. The property however was sensitively brought up to modern standards and extremely clean.

Visit the remains of the ancient Saxon cathedral in the village, walk the pretty track along what was once a railway line, visit the Norfolk Museum of Rural Life nearby, take the Holt Road from the hotel to the coast winding through pretty villages, with several National Trust properties to visit on the way.
Eat at the hotel, the Fish Platter is a must!

Useful centre for visiting the area.
Useful centre for visiting the area. Fakenham and Derheam are nearby with larger shops and restaurants, but there is a pleasant pub (railway Arms) in the village too. Hopefully the mid Norfolk Railway will get back here soon as well.
From the moment we checked in we felt welcome. The hotel is located in a very beautiful and scenic spot, which was very convenient for us to where we needed to be. The check in process was quick and easy, the staff very polite and attentive and the rooms were beautiful, spacious and very clean. We only stayed for one night but will definitely return. We had dinner and breakfast and the food was exceptional. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Very welcoming and helpful staff on arrival and in the restaurant. During the booking process, the hotel staff responded promptly and were really helpful. Dinner was excellent, traditional fare and large portions. Room had own entrance in a separate outbuilding which was nice and quiet, away from the pub. Room was well decorated and clean with everything we needed.
This ‘pub’ accommodation exceeds most hotels. The room was large and quiet, super king bed very comfy, nice big telly and decent sized tea mugs! Very clean shower room, appreciated the bathrobes, illuminated makeup mirror and posh toiletries. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were exceptional. Staff lovely and helpful. Will definitely return - an unexpected gem!
Beautiful old building, spacious, comfortable and clean rooms in lovely, countryside location. The on-site bar and restaurant, including breakfast was all excellent and made even better by both the staff and locals.
We stayed to avail of the nearby Polar Express experience, but I’d happily go back for the hotel alone.
Many thanks
Hotel was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable. Had an evening meal and breakfast and both were great. The staff are really friendly. Play area outside was also great so the kids could burn off some energy before bed. Would highly recommend.
Very clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms. Had an excellent dinner in the hotel and the cooked breakfast was very good, although the continental breakfast was a little underwhelming.
