Cottage Lea's Country Hotel & Restaurant, hotel in Newton

Set within 2 acres of beautiful gardens, Cottage Lea's Country Hotel features an on-site restaurant and elegantly furnished bedrooms.

Beautiful location overlooking the dales, breakfast was beautifully cooked. The staff were exceptionally accommodating to the needs of my elderly mother, and dietary requirements of my wife, couldn’t have done more.

The Black Swan Inn, hotel in Newton

Located 3.1 mi from Flamingo Land Theme Park in Pickering, The Black Swan Inn features a restaurant and free WiFi. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site.

We loved the Black Swan! The service was outstanding. I travelled every week for work before covid and I have seldom had better service anywhere in the world I've been. Definitely the best service I've had in any hotel in the UK. I have mobility issues and while the Swan has no lift the staff couldn't do enough to help with bags etc., Good free parking behind the pub with plenty of parking spots. Breakfast was very good, best I've had in a while. The only drawback was dinner was not as good as the breakfast. Bar staff are very friendly. Lots of locals come in so you know it's good. The location is perfect with a short walk to any shops and to Pickering station (NYMR). We plan on coming back later in the year.

Moors Inn, hotel in Newton

Perfectly located on the border of the North Yorkshire Moors, the Moors Inn is a Grade II Listed building in the center of Appleton-le-Moors village.

Breakfast was ok, however an addition of beans would stop this being somewhat 'dry'. The location was good.

Great Location in a Beautiful village, a bit short of choices for quality food in the area. The White Swann pub was not the best by far, closed Monday and Tuesday, no food served Wednesday, we were looking forward to eating there in the evenings, we went once and that was enough, the food itself was a good treat, very nicely cooked and beautifully presented, we even got to speak to the cook who is a really lovely person and she made up in some way for the fact that it was a bit sad that the owners of the pub could not be bothered to either have the log fire on, there was no music, or even candles lit. This made for quite a cold feel in terms of ambience and actual heat of the building
