Very suitable overnight stop enroute to the ferry. Very comfortable bed and soft linens. Hosts extremely helpful and accommodating.
Whitestone Cottage in Culzean was the birthplace of Robert Burns' mother, Agnes Broun, in 1732.

My son and I were doing a tour of western Scotland and came across this place as it is very close to Culzean Castle (fantastic). Space was small but had everything we were looking for and more. The proprietor, George, was very friendly and seemed proud of his property. We got there a little late and were hungry so he made reservations for us at a great restaurant (possibly best food we had in Scotland). Would definitely recommend Whitestone for those looking for a base of operation.

Everything was lovely - every detail of the rolm had been considered (down to the quality of the sheets!), Rhona and Paul were so welcoming and kind, breakfast was delicious, and they even left a welcome drink after our very long drive!

What a wonderful welcome we had from owners, Margaret and Bryce! The bedroom and bathroom were huge and well appointed. They made reservations for us at a local restaurant and then drove us there and picked us up later. They went way beyond what we expected. Their property is set in a park-like community. You will not regret staying here.

Maybole was refreshing after a few city nights in Edinburgh.
Maybole was refreshing after a few city nights in Edinburgh. Beautiful landscape alive with herds of cows and sheep, fresh ocean air, lovely people, Castles, Golf Courses, great Restaurants, and most of all our Hosts Linzi & Kevin with well appointed rooms at the Scottish Manor House! We rented a car near the train station (didn't feel brave enough to do so in the big city but here in the country it was a breeze) and we really got around. Enjoyed Breakfast at the Coo Shed one day and Willie Wastle's the next. Loved our Dinners at Laird's Table and the Brig O'Doon, and especially Chinese Take Out with the owners and guests of the Scottish Manor House. Visited Culzean Castle (Dad's ancestor's Castle) and had lunch in the courtyard. All in all... an amazing trip of a lifetime for me and my 81 year old DAD. I will certainly be back with my husband in the future for more adventures!

Maybole the village is a very sad, run-down place but it does have a Co-op shop, and it has been granted a regeneration package so things should improve now the By-pass had opened.
Cloncaird Castle is about 10 miles away & is an impressive building, with well renovated cottages in its exciting grounds, and close to many sites of interest & beauty.

Used the town only for quick shopping and to buy takeaway food. It was dirty and looked tired. The staff in the takeaways were helpful but the local supermarket staff were abrupt and lacked initiative ie long queues forming while they were stacking shelves and they showed no interest in serving and answering questions. Would probably avoid returning to the area. No reason to recommend the town - we were house hunting in the area but have now decided to look further afield despite there being some great properties nearby

Our visit was for a wedding so not sight-seeing but we did eat in Kirkmichael, a little village near Maybole, at the Kirkmichael Arms- thoroughly to be recommended -food and service excellent -very friendly - a surprise find!
Our stay at the Grand top floor apartment in the Royal Bank House was fantastic. The apartment boasts the most amazing decor and wonderful detail throughout. The beds are truly comfortable... each and everyone of us slept soundly. I would highly recommend a stay at John and Naomi's apartment. It is a wonderful haven and conveniently located in the town of Maybole. I am feeling relaxed and rejuvenated following my stay here. I would love to return again for a more lengthy stay next time!
Thanks so much for having us.

Very communicative hosts. Flexible and accomodating.
The accomodation itself was beautifully kept and maintained and the location was ideal for the event we had out at Dalduff Farm.
Would definitely recommend this place for any visits to Maybole.
The accommodation was excellent, very comfy and cosy. The location is lovely. Lots of lovely walks available plus great location for exploring other areas eg Rabbie Burns Cottage, Ayr and shops/restaurants in Maybole. Wifi is excellent.
