Lovely property in a great location. More spacious than it looked in the pictures and thought had clearly gone in to making it a nice place to stay. Nice welcoming touches, decent water pressure and everything we needed was provided. Right next to places to eat and drink and a pleasant place to spend an evening.

Everything was wonderful! Anne and John made us feel at home and made my mum's birthday so much more special. We loved all the little touches and the breakfasts were gorgeous and kept us going for most of the day! The location is perfect for walking into Matlock and the train station is so close too for little day trips. They were very helpful in recommending places to visit and eat and for accommodating us when we had an early check-in. the room was sparkling clean and comfortable. We loved it and felt safe there.
Lovely riverside walks. Heights of Abraham worth a visit.
Lovely riverside walks. Heights of Abraham worth a visit. Can get busy there in summer. Limited food outlets in Matlock Bath, mostly fish and chips. Lots of motorbikes when the weather is good so traffic held up. Easily accessible by train from Derby and bus from Sheffield only cost £2.00

Matlock Bath has 24 fish & chip shops (!!!), a couple of traditional pubs and an excellent Indian restaurant, The Balti.
For fine dining, go to Stones in Matlock itself. Fabulous!
Traffic is awful at weekends and especially Bank Holidays.
Cromford Mill is a must visit (with the volunteer tour guide).
Famous bookshop and great Chocolate Shop also in Cromford.

Unfortunately we were here for a family funeral.
Unfortunately we were here for a family funeral. We have been to Matlock and the surrounding area before and would certainly stay at this accommodation again. It was very central. This is an ideal location to travel around and is very cost effective.

Matlock Bath is such a beautiful place , the views, the walks, and a lovely restaurant called The Seafood Cave and Grill. The food here was omg so fresh and tasty! Would definitely recommend this restaurant, not cheap but worth a visit. Some of the other local pubs ran out of food on a Saturday afternoon which baffled us to be honest? Lots of fish and chips available which seem to appeal to motorcycles. The walks are beautiful and the heights of Abraham are well worth a visit.

Town located in the Peak District, with great food choices, and many interesting shops. Convenient for hill walking and riverside strolls. Close to Cromford Mill World Heritage site. Pleasant park and scenic views.
Lovely hotel, beautiful room with tea, coffee biscuits and water, the staff were so friendly and always had time to chat to you. Breakfast was freshly cooked and the vegetarian breakfast was great with bubble and squeak and a derbyshire oatcake filled with cheese even had a choice of cereal, fresh fruit salad, porridge or yoghurt as well as the cooked breakfast.Would return to this hotel makes a great short break away and Matlock bath and surrounding areas are beautiful.
This hotel is beautiful, the garden around it is so lovely and it all lit up in the evening. The staff are really friendly and the room was a good size with a lovely ensuite bathroom. It was so warm in the room with the radiators on all evening that we had the window open in February! The location is great, a quick 2 minute drive into matlock bath and it was all finished off with a really good breakfast.
Charming little cottage, oozing with character. The owners also left us lots of treats from biscuits to wine and a coffee machine with coffee pods. Thank you!
The bath was fabulous too. The front room and sofa were really comfortable and relaxing.
And the books!! We really appreciated the many books by or edited by Chris Wrigley on Cromford and its industrial history. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Great location. It is a short walk down the road to the town and local restaurants/hotels. The station is even closer if you want to go to Matlock Bath to experience the Heights of Abraham or Cromford for the Mill complex. Arrive by train or bus to Matlock Bath and the cable car is discounted. This is a quiet location with welcoming hosts who provide a marvellous breakfast to order.
I had a great breakfast every morning. The staff were attentive and responsive without being intrusive. The room was comfortable and relaxing. I paid extra for a view and don't regret it for a second. The hotel was well-placed midway between Matlock and Matlock Bath and overall I had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. I would definitely like to stay there again.
The interior decoration and facilities were really nice and far better than expected. Rachel has done a wonderful job of setting up the Maisonette. I had a couple of questions and Rachel was always responsive and helpful. The location is very good, its just a five minute walk into the very centre of Matlock.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, we went as a group of friends to celebrate my 40th birthday, we booked into the spa and stayed over night. The spa was amazing, the hotel rooms were clean and spacious. Great location short walk into matlock bath, we all had a great time and would visit again
The location of the hotel was amazing, we could walk to nearby attractions. Our room was so charming and comfortable. It was a perfect getaway even in winter. Very cozy and warm. Breakfast was delicious and had many options to choose from. The parking was an added bonus. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
The property was immaculate when we arrived. Decor beautiful. Comfortable beds. Automatic on off lights in bathroom and toilet. USB ports in sockets in kitchen were a lovely added touch. It was just perfect. A bottle of wine and a pint of milk from the owner to greet us again a lovely touch.
We had the kingside room which had a four poster bed with amazing views of the matlock castle. The bathroom was also very nice and very big with a walk in shower. The food in the hotel was excellent and the staff were very helpful and there was a wide range of local ales for sale.
Situated between Matlock and Matlock Bath and central for visiting the Derbyshire dales. Within a short walking distance from Matlock bath and it's facilities. Great if your a walker, with walks from door. Clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly hosts, and a great breakfast.
Nice hotel with the lovely decent sized room in a beautiful Matlock Bath. Located only 15 minutes walk from The Heights of Abraham and with a free parking this hotel is a good place for visiting this attraction without the hassle of finding a parking space in a busy town center.
The location was really good, in that you could easily walk to either Matlock or Matlock Bath from the hotel. Staff seemed nice enough, from the limited interaction I had with them. Handy parking outside too. It was fairly cheap compared to some other places.
Very welcoming hosts. Bedroom was well furnished - Bonus was the small fridge and real milk!
Bathroom and shower clean and well supplied with toiletries.
Breakfasts choices were good and care was taken to keep everything Covid safe.
The Red Lion for us had everything, friendly staff, comfortable room, delicious food, it is a great locals pub and is close to the town centre. We had a great winter weekend escape and will definitely stay here again.
Stunning view across the valley, one of the best hotel views I've ever had, friendly happy reception staff, good location for Matlock Bath, beware the steep hill back though.
A very nice apartment in the centre of Matlock Bath overlooking the river. The apartment was clean, tidy and very well equipped with high-quality items.
