Breakfast was lovely. Really good portions. Staff were excellent. I arrived late due to travel delays and staff reopened the kitchen so I didn't go hungry. Everyone was really friendly.

In Crickhowell, in the Brecon Beacons, The Bear dates back to 1432. Expect a welcoming atmosphere, old world charm and good food. Awarded Inn of the Year 2010 by the Good Pub Guide.

Fabulous location in the centre of Crickhowell. We used the hotel as an overnight base as we were visiting the Hay Literature Festival which is 30 minute drive away. Lovely, friendly greeting from the lady at reception who advised that we had been upgraded to a courtyard room. The room was spacious, clean and well decorated- very pleased.Good size bathroom well stocked with towels and a few toiletries. We booked a table for an evening meal ( good job we booked, the restaurant was very busy). Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast was also very good. Would definitely stay here again. Crickhowell is a lovely place to visit and an ideal base for exploring Bannau Brycheiniog.

Really warm welcome on arrival. Excellent facilities and a wonderful cosy garden to sit and have a beer and a pizza in. We stayed in the family suite which is like a mini apartment - much better than we’d anticipated. Would love to stay again.

Beautiful hotel and location. Room was lovely, ita a shame we didn't have longer here. Restaurant is a little pricey although food excellent quality. Staff we spoke to were friendly, welcoming and just generally nice people. Will definitely staff here again.
