Plas Esgair, hotel in Llanbrynmair

Plas Esgair is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion located on the outskirts of Llanbrynmair in the heart of mid Wales.

Lovely quiet location with marvelous views. The Hallway and rooms are decorated in dramatic and opulant clours with artwork and antiques displayed throughout which all makes this place so special. The owners are really welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The Portmeirion China tea set in the bedroom was a real treat to use, as was the remote controlled blind, who knew there was such a thing. This was a return visit for us, we just love everything about it!

Y Star, hotel in Llanbrynmair

Y Star enjoys a location in Dylife, 24 miles from Elan Valley and 28 miles from Aberystwyth Golf Club. Both free Wifi and parking on-site are available at the vacation home free of charge.

Y-Star is remote, in an idyllic setting. It is close to the Glyndwr’s Way trail. Richard, Nadine and family were amiable hosts, nothing was too much trouble. My room was clean and bright and had a great view. Would definitely stay again.

The White Lion Hotel, hotel in Llanbrynmair

Around 30 minutes’ drive from Aberystwyth, The White Lion Hotel is a traditional Welsh inn in the town of Machynlleth.

Staff helped me to change rooms when I was put in a room with a bed with a footboard, which I am too tall for. The bathroom was modern. The silence in the night was impressive. I could sleep without earplugs. Staff were very kind and helped me down with large luggage upon check-out.

Good property but well off the beaten track.

Good property but well off the beaten track. Nearest town 10 miles away and pleased I arrived in daylight hours to find location. Helpful Hostess. Easy parking outside property. Good breakfast choice & homemade jams. Tranquil location - great for walkers, ambitious cyclists. Lots of attractions in this part of Wales and tourist information in the bedroom wold be helpful to those seeking inspiration.

A Georgian mansion under renovation in a wonderfully remote location. Ideal for walking, birdwatching and getting away from modern madness. The owner/hosts are very helpful and friendly. Great for our dog, who was also made very welcome. The house is straight out of central casting for an Agatha Christie novel. Much more interesting to us than a modern, sterile hotel. Not for everyone, but we loved it.

Small village enroute to the welsh coast.

Small village enroute to the welsh coast. Nestled in valley with beautiful mountains surrounding. Quiet. Excellent base for walking and exploring. Village has a shop, public telephone box still and very well kept conveniences! We ate at number 21 in Machynlleth, a lovely bistro - few tables so book ahead. Need to drive from Plas Esgair to find somewhere to eat, no public transport.
