Lovely little b&b staff fantastic and very friendly room was great modern very comfortable bed big modern bathroom.Great continental breakfast served in the room with plenty of variety. The evening meal in the restaurant was great the best fish and chips ever would definitely stay again

Pretty, quiet but interesting village in Nottinghamshire.
Pretty, quiet but interesting village in Nottinghamshire. Has its own history and is well worth an explore and a walk around if in that region. Close enough to the A1 but use your sat nav!! Dovecote Inn has good well-equipped rooms to stay and a small visitor centre re the village's unique history.
Laxton is an interesting village, well positioned for visiting our friends, but also in an attractive area that we would like to return to and explore further. Samantha made us feel very welcome, and delivered breakfast to the cottage each morning - a very good idea during Covid, but would actually be nice in normal times, too. The accommodation is perfect for a couple, with a bedroom, sitting room and bathroom - all beautifully decorated and comfortable.
Fabulous little place for a getaway! Cosy, clean, peaceful, everything you need and in Samantha, a fantastic host! She brought us an amzing breakfast of choice, with everything fresh. Lovely facilities inside the cottage, which is detached from the main house, and so quiet! Laxton is a beautiful village and the pub across the road, The Dovecote, serves excellent fare and is warm and friendly. Super and highly recommended!
Such a gorgeous location, so quiet and picturesque with the most lovely local walks right on your doorstep. Really friendly host who goes out of her way to make your stay perfect. The cottage itself is just lovely, every little thing has been thought of in great detail and the decor is beautiful and really tasteful. Would 100% recommend this stay as it's ridiculously well priced. Beats any 5 star hotel!
The Dovecot is a traditional, friendly pub with rooms in a quiet converted barn just across the car park. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. The food was very good and great value too.
We got excellent service from the start to the finish of our stay.

The Dovecote Inn was a gem of a find in the beautiful village of Laxton. The hosting team were friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The accommodation was a very high standard, spacious and clean. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We would not hesitate to return.
This place was amazing, Sherwood Suite was fabulous. Dinner was excellent and the attention to detail, in both the hotel and our room was fantastic. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Great value for money and would highly recommend the Dovecote Inn.
The atmospheric and historic village of Laxton is hard to beat. The staff were as helpful, friendly and welcoming as always and the room itself was very comfortable (especially after we had opened the windows to let in the fresh Laxton air!)
