The staff were exceptionally helpful, as we got lost on the way there and they guided us over the phone despite it being nearly midnight. Very grateful!

Although beginning to look a little tired outside The Bell is a lively pub with excellent food

This is a gorgeous village pub in what is clearly a very old building, full of charm and character. The staff were so, so lovely; nothing was too much trouble (not that we needed to call on them much). The room was quiet, a lovely temperature, bright, and airy. The bed was perfectly comfortable - maybe not as firm as I might like (and everyone's preference varies, of course), but hardly saggy. The food is standard pub grub, largely, but it is very good standard pub grub. The restaurant area is nicely shielded from the noise of the pub, which is welcome if you want to have a quieter conversation.

The staff was engaging and wonderful! I loved that every meal had a vegan / vegetarian option. It was quiet, but clearly a place where locals gather. I look forward to staying there again!

If there is no air conditioning in the room, there should be fans available for ALL rooms in the event of hot weather. Room was unbearably hot. Sleep was scarce as a result.
The rest of the stay was very good.

The location provided easy access to some of the sacred sites around the area, we drove to the Uffingham horse then walked to Wayland Smithy, before driving back south to Avebury and then home. The hotel was clean well cared for and the cost was incredibly cheaper than we expected. Thank you
The hotel is designed as a stopover for travellers along the M4, so the surrounding facilities are limited to those of the adjacent (pretty decent) motorway services. Having said that, the room and public areas were clean and recently upgraded, although the bathroom was a little tired, and the sofa bed could do with cleaning/recovering. The reception area was cheerful and offered a good selection of snacks and drinks. The receptionist was super friendly and helpful, even giving us a hand with our heavy suitcase.
Exceptional, friendly & helpful guy on reception. The room was exactly as required, very comfortable, great value. Easy parking. Restaurant for breakfast etc next door. Will definitely use this hotel again. Very convenient for M4. Would recommend getting instructions for getting to the hotel in advance if travelling eastbound on M4 as the hotel is on the westbound side of M4 - not a problem, it's very easy when you know how! Use the same route to cross back over to continue travelling eastbound.
the ease of access into the services and the hotel is set back from the main car park, so is quieter than some I’ve been in. As booked far enough in advance it was very reasonable and importantly allowed a dog. The room itself, was as expected spartan but comfortable , with a bathroom , yes an actual small bath and not just a shower. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Overall for a service stations hotel, it fits the bill well. And has free Wi-Fi.
Hotel rooms how they used to be. There was lots of space, a desk and chair, a lovely bed and a a mattress with a bounce. There was a trouser press that's probably not been used since 1993 but I slept better knowing it was there. There were spare towels, spare pillows, a hairdryer and windows you could actually open - and best of all, a bath! The staff were so nice and friendly too. Given the price, my stay was outstanding value for money.
Very convenient place to stay when traveling on the M4 from Heathrow towards Wales. I had a late evening flight and had stayed here before for one night. The hotel is very quiet because it is set back a little from the service parking lot. I had dinner at the KFC which was ok.
Nice and easy to get too, I wish they had us about the short cut over the m4 on the 1st night, as it would have saved us a long travel down the M4 to get to to Lambourne
Near by M4, but no noises or something. The hotel is a little bit old, furniture,... But we had a good night and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
