Magical and secluded location, delicious breakfast and dinner, extremely comfortable bed, accommodating staff, and beautifully decorated rooms with well-stocked amenities. The Bridge B&B, hotel in Kilmaluag

The Bridge B&B is set in Kilmaluag, in northern Skye, and 19 mi from Portree. The rooms have a flat-screen TV. All rooms include a seating area where you can relax. You will find a kettle in the room....

The property was easy to locate (we arrived much later than expected) and all of the instructions were accurate as to how to self-check in. Beds were incredibly comfy and the room was very clean. Appreciated having a kettle and tea. My son found a coloring book, pencils and a deck of cards waiting for him and was ecstatic. Breakfast was available with so many choices, including fresh baked goods (carrot cake was amazing). I had a low tire pressure warning on my car from hitting a pothole and the staff were lovely and went completely out of their way to help me, literally checking all tires and filling them up - so above and beyond, but extremely kind and helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. This was my most expensive place to stay on my trip but was quiet, comfy, clean, safe, and a wonderful experience.

We had to drive great distance to get to our accommodation...

We had to drive great distance to get to our accommodation at almost the top of Isle of Skye so it proved to be a long trip to get to The Fairy Pools and various other place Skye had to offer. Lovely place if you just want to relax and enjoy being out in the country. The roads around the area are very narrow with a lot of pot holes....Scotland needs to spend a lot of money on roads around the country as ghey are Ina bad state.

Beautiful scenery, great areas to walk, near the sea.

Beautiful scenery, great areas to walk, near the sea. We visited Kilt Rock, took photos of the waterfall. great base, quiet. Nice romantic getaway. The pot holes on the isle of Skye are really bad in places especially when travelling in the dark as they are hard to see. we were aware that this is an issue so drove very slowly in the dark.

The facilities were very adequate but not well maintained.

The facilities were very adequate but not well maintained. There were a number of issues that, since we are familiar with tools and technology we were able to address some of the issues to meet needs. There clearly was a need for updating the facilities and resupply the kitchen. The cottages are in the country with no restaurants close, so we did our own cooking. Skye is not a large island so traveling to another location is not very time consuming with the exception of single lane roads, requires slow going. Staying in Portree or other parts of the island nearer restaurants or pubs would have been more pleasant for us.
