More Than Just a London Suburb
Ilford benefits from a train station on the fast line between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. Since Stratford, site of the Olympic Park, is only a few stations away, Ilford rose in international popularity during the build-up to the 2012 Games. However, location isn't all it has going for it.
The Borough of Redbridge is run from its Grade II-listed Victorian town hall, on a pedestrian precinct which includes the Ilford Exchange shopping centre. To the west is another Grade II-listed building: the 12th-century Hospital Chapel of St Mary and St Thomas of Canterbury.
The UK’s only complete mammoth skull was found underneath the high street and is now displayed in London’s Natural History Museum. Redbridge Museum houses more archaeological finds, and the 17th-century Valentines Mansion features a Victorian kitchen and beautiful gardens.
Actually outside of the capital when built, the mansion is now firmly within Greater London and is surrounded by Valentines Park with its boating lake and cricket pitch where Essex County once played.
The diverse cuisine of Ilford’s restaurants reflects its multicultural population, and there are also several good bars and a club near Gants Hill Tube station that is popular with reality TV stars. Nearby Ilford accommodation on Booking.com includes hotels with parking and cheap guest houses.

As a black person I felt comfortable among the Asian population and I saw other persons of color as well. The town is lively and friendly. The Turkish food was a blast. The shopping center has almost everything. For black women, there's a hair shop in the main shopping area. The prices are reasonable for London

Wazir's kebab is worth tasting
Only 40 min drive to Stansted airport (at least early in the morning)
this is a perfect location to access the motorway and or central London.
I used to stay here when it was the premier inn I was gutted when it closed down but absolutely chuffed to see Redbridge Lodge had reopened the Hotel. The rooms are exactly the same as the premier inn & the staff are absolutely lovely x Special thanks to Calvin who checked me in such a sweetheart & the other male receptionist (I didn’t catch his name) again so lovely and super helpful.
It is located near the Ilford train station with easy access to cental London gor the sightseeing. also all the shops you may need are near byZ
There are also nice places to eat after your busy day of visiting London.
The staff is very nice, polite and super helpful. They go an extra mile to make your stay nice experience.
Yes, the toiletries are lacking and the pillows could be softer but over all it is still good value for money.
I really liked that it was spacious, clean, great facility location.Me and my son stayed for two days and it was great! The Kitchen staff were amazing!Daljeet Kaur you did your not so easy job well with a lovely smile.Keep the standard up.
Their idea of breakfast is amazing even though not varied. Some hotels don’t do hot foods. They had a cereal option which was great for my footballer son who had come to London for trials.
The hotel was very close to Ilford station, I had a nice big room, in the morning I received my breakfast package, it was very enough (bread, butter, cheese, honey, eggs, tea, etc). There was a lift in the hotel, so it was easy to go up to the room. Nice, big, clean room with bathroom, towel, shower gel, hair dryer, etc. Comfortable bed with TV in the room. Helpful staff
Ali was friendly & helpful with directions both to the hotel & for amenities surrounding it. There was even an issue after I checked out but Ali handled it with grace & professionalism which i both appreciated and was impressed by.
Thanks very much, see you next time
Booked this hotel because of the location, opposite Valentines Park, at Ilford. Another reason, breakfast was included in the price so it was an add. Reception staff was kind and helpful, breakfast was ok, including bread toast, eggs, beans, sausages and coffee.
My stay was pretty well for overall. The hotel location is good in terms of reaching local amenities. It's 15 minutes walk to the closest train station. The room is clean in generally and the staff of the hotel was very helpful and friendly.
Excellent location, great choice of restaurants available in the area. The room was spacious, very clean, excellent facilities, clean bathroom with shower. Very courteous and smilling staff . Really satisfied with my stay .
Very clean apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Check-in instructions are very clear and easy to follow. This apartment has everything you need to have a pleasant stay in London. Conveniently located close to Ilford station.
The lady that runs this place can't do enough to help you, the rooms are tidy and she is very friendly, the best hotel in London for the cleanliness and friendliness, the rooms are cleaned daily and the beds are comfy
It's situated at a 10 mins walking distance from the Ilford train station and a 15-20 mins train ride from London's Liverpool station. In general, the place is clean (except for some stains on the sofa).
They were very accommodating because I wanted to book in before the normal time.
The view was great.
There were many places available for a meal.
The area was quiet and easy to find.
For a budget hotel in London, this is still a very well presented, clean, modern hotel. It is fairly "no frills" but at the excellent price, that is to be expected.
There wasn't much to like sadly. parking was convenient being in a bay just outside hotel and free of charge. However In there wasn't much else to comment on.
