The atmosphere in the hotel and restaurant was relaxed, friendly and unpretentious, but the quality of the restaurant food was impressive, as was the copious cooked breakfast. The setting, with views over a medieval castle and a charming, unspoiled beach., was exceptional. The hotel was conveniently situated between the local hub of Tenby and the well-known National Trust coastline at Stackpole.

Hodgeston is the formal village name for what is really known as Freshwater East. A good place for coastal walking, I did two days without the car from my accommodation. There is other great walking in easy driving distance. There are also a couple of historic sites - two castles and a ruined palace - nearby.
The roads were pretty quiet and the driving in the area was smooth.
I self catered at the property.
I would certainly go back and didn't experience anything to avoid.
