Everything looked clean comfortable room with 2 good sized beds in a twin room all the staff we spoke to were polite and helpful. very easy access from station .breakfast room was nice and light.

The location is very good, within walking distance from every point of interest in the town. The room was very spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast, included with the stay, was good, with some fresh fruits available in addition to the traditional English breakfast.

The location was perfect, a short walk to the old city, away from the crowds. The hotel had a great vibe and was super clean. The restaurant was very good and pizza night outside in the beer garden was an unexpected surprise!

Perfect location just a 5 minutes walk from city center (keeping you away from the crowd, but easy to get anywhere). All the staff is incredibly helpful and kind and the breakfast was excellent. Definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed at a sister property in Bath and loved it, so when we had the opportunity to stay at the location in York we didn’t think twice. We like having everything in one-hotel, restaurant, spa. The complementary pantry is also nice. Staff was very friendly and responsive. The location was an easy walk into the main town but far enough out of the fray to feel calm. We did two massages in the spa and they were lovely, the spa itself is serene and a wonderful escape.

The approach to the property is off a main road (York to Harrogate) and is difficult to see. The drive into the property is narrow and twists and turns through trees, Signs on the door are not that welcoming, particularly an instruction to take off shoes when entering.
Had we been just passing traffic looking for a B&B rather than having already paid, we would have turned around and gone on to somewhere else. The whole property which includes a small lake is very heavily wooded.
Once inside however it is most satisfactory apart from the lack of space for opening luggage.
