This is a lovely little apartment. Very cozy and clean and nicely decorated. Lots of nice light. The kitchen was nicely outfitted and the coffee/tea supplies were very nice. Wonderful to have a clothes washer. Nice to have an outer room to leave wet umbrellas etc. Great, quiet location a short walk from the city center.
Surrounded by beautiful scenery but just a few minutes' walk from Hay-On-Wye's center, this charming inn has a traditional wooden-beamed bar.

The inn has character, comfort, hospitality, and amazing food. The staff is friendly, the rooms very comfortable, and did I mention the amazing food? We were a party of 7, with 2 kids, and even with appetizers, mains, and deserts, we only averaged £25 per person for AMAZING food. Highly recommended.
Set in the beautiful Welsh countryside, this 16th century building has been transformed into a comfortable guest house with an indoor swimming pool and sauna.

The property during my stay met my standard, got to see a nice view of farm fields with sheep’s and hearing birds singing. The room spacious but can’t complain. And at breakfast the host was very friendly and her friendly pet dog made my mornings during my breakfast.

A lovely little town. Obviously you will most likely be going for the bookshops. There are also other interesting shops, and on one of the days we visited - Thursday - a market.
Lovely countryside around too

Hay is great , there is always something to do here. Some lovely antique shops and vintage bizarres. Great coffee shops and restaurants. The Castle has been restored and is a beautiful gift to behold. We love walking along the river to The Warren and having a dip in the cold water.
A little gem of a place.

Hay is a beautiful village with many historic buildings and interesting shops. There are many options for outdoor recreation in the area. One thing to note is that most shops close at 5 PM. My favorite meal was dinner at The Old Black Lion. Every meal I had in Hay was excellent. Please note if you are using the bus to get from the train station at Hereford to check the bus schedule yourself since Google Maps pulled from the wrong table. There is a lovely walking path along the River Wye with amazing views of the river.

A wonderful place to visit!
A wonderful place to visit! Quirky shops, vast array of book & antique shops and a lovely market. Coffee shops we’ve visited have all been excellent. My husband and I regularly visit for a night or two. We dine at the Blue Boar and occasionally the Indian restaurant- both superb!
Lovely walks, and a ambience of calmness & fresh air entices us back all seasons.
My daughter and I have also camped nearby- that’s was fabulous too!

pretentious!
Only one overpriced pub which did food I liked.. the food cost telephone numbers
A lot of visitors looked they had just come out of a 1960's folk festival
Er, since the advent of Amazon do we really need bookshops?
A wonderful apartment in Hay! From the meeting with the owner for the handover and tour of the apartment to our experience of living in a great apartment in this beautiful and eclectic town, our experience was really special. It was exactly what we needed and felt very comfortable, even having friends over for wine and cheese in the spacious living area. It was a perfect home-away-from home. Looking forward to returning in the future. Will definitely stay here again.
The place was fantastic, made even more fantastic with the greeting of the owner Di and her beautiful dog Captain - the best guest greeter, we loved him! The hotel also has a great swimming pool, which was lovely and nice and warm. Breakfast was great, the food is lovely and high quality. The place is literally in the centre of town, so if you want to shop it’s the best place to stay. Would absolutely book again on our next trip to Hay on Wye!
This is a great little property, conveniently located a short walk from the centre of Hay on Wye. We personally could have done with a little more space, but that is our preference, not a reflection on the property itself. The property was furnished and finished to a really high standard, and was lovely and cool during our recent heat wave! Thank you for the milk and Welsh cakes in the fridge on our arrival! Thank you so much
A lovely, cozy little shepherd's hut. A safe and enclosed space for the dog to run free, an ultra comfy bed, well equipt kitchenette and efficient shower. Hot water straight away. Fire pit, wood burner/stove and ample wood freely available. Mountain view and only the sound of sheep and nature to distract. Hay on Wye only a stone's throw from Clyro. Karen and Jim are great hosts. The perfect weekend getaway! .
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It is in a great location for Hay-onWye town centre, the book festival as well as great views over the countryside.
We could see that the team there were working hard to make an enjoyable stay for their guests.
Excellent dinner and breakfast menu selection. Very comfy rooms, full of character, but do remember to pay attention to the "Mind Your Head" signs!!
Location was amazing for access to Hay and the festival, walk ten minutes max.
Breakfast was fresh eggs, bread and milk.
Wifi access, parking, keys all was made easy.
The hosts were perfect, nearby if we needed them but left us to enjoy the space.
Loved being surrounded by the animals who took it in turns to make their noise !!
Friendly, helpful staff; excellent food (well-deserved gastro pub reputation) comfortable room; seemed well organised in terms covid safety. Hay is a great place to stay - the river Wye, the hills, the horse riding nearby, and of course the bookshops. The hotel was a very good base for two friends on a holiday.
The location is beautiful, with stunning views, the accommodation is superb and the hosts could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The breakfasts were outstanding and small luxuries (baskets of fruit, home made cakes) made our stay really special - all 7 days :-)
The house was very well designed, had lots of storage space and was really clean. All bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms, which was brilliant. The welcome hamper was...welcome. Location was perfect, right in the town. The electric charging point next to the house was a bonus.
The property during my stay met my standard, got to see a nice view of farm fields with sheep’s and hearing birds singing. The room spacious but can’t complain. And at breakfast the host was very friendly and her friendly pet dog made my mornings during my breakfast.
It was really central and close to shops/cafes etc. Great recommendations from host of what to see/where to eat. Really appreciated the parking space and quirkiness of the property.
The room and bathroom were spacious and well furnished. The hotel was wonderfully quirky and the grounds were beautiful, especially the little stream running along the border.
The location could not possibly be better, right in the heart of Hay. The rooms are also really attractive, with wooden beams and very spacious. Comfortable, too.
