Nice bedroom and staff but please tell your bar staff not to pour the drinks before they reach the table. I asked for no ice but my tomato juice was already poured over the ice and it was also a Big Tom which is too spicy for me. I then had a Frobisher fruit juice which was also about to be poured over the ice before the waitress stepped in.Annoyingly I was charged for the original juice which was poured away!

The hotel was amazing a real old coaching house with lots of character - the bedroom floors were original floor boards and completely uneven which was fantastic - its great that buildings like this are kept in great condition and used!

Breakfast buffest was good with a full English, cereal and yogurt options.
This hotel dates from the Tudor period, but the inside reflects the very best in modern design. It is featured in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral, as well as the TV show Midsomer Murders.

The public area was very nicely decorated and comfortable. Food menu very good
Location very good accessible to motorway and area where we had a party village and surroundings very peaceful and pleasant scenery.
Room was slightly small and would have put the cost of it at £85 -90
Beautiful well kept gardens and grounds
A good breakfast with plenty of choices which covered hot and cold food and lots of availability and good availability of seating
Breakfast staff were nice too 😊
Room was clean and functional for needs altho a little basic
The downside
Bed was small for a double seemed more like a small double than a regular sized double
Room was warm we had to sleep with window open all night as didn’t appear to have aircon and couldn’t find any information booklet on room
Also rooms aren’t soundproof as was woken very early by next door room occupants tv /talking and general moving around
Also there was a wedding on the Saturday night and from our room we could hear the music from the party , not loudly but enough for us to hear
We Also felt a 10am checkout for a Sunday was a little early considering breakfast also ended at 10am
And lastly the Sunday we checked out felt the reception lady was a little frosty and abrupt when we were asking for information regarding checkout timing/breakfast timings

The Limes is an amazing house. Large, well equipped rooms.
The Limes is an amazing house. Large, well equipped rooms. Plenty of seating.
Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen.
The piano was well used and a family singalong was a highlight ( although maybe not for Nolan and Lisa next door!)
The pool and hot tub were great and Nolan helped with the logs and heating the hot tub on the first night. It really does get very hot. Pool was warm. Our 2 youngest children were managing to swim a few strokes after 3 days although they were quickly out of their depth as there isn’t much shallow area.
A hand rail for older folk would have been very welcome though. We will certainly visit again.

Pretty little village with lots of historic buildings/cottages. Would have liked to have visited the Roald Dahl museum but it was closed. Nice walk up to the churchyard to Roald Dahl's grave and BFGs footprints.
A couple of nice looking cafes which I did not try, but enough here to make an hour pass by pleasantly.

Buckinghamshire and The Chitons is a lovely area of outstanding natural beauty but you will have to ignore the ‘workings’ of the proposed High Speed Rail HS2.
Lots to see, lots to do, great food and independent shops along with the usual big supermarkets.

we only stayed there to visit somewhere else nearby, the village looked lovely with lots of well reviewed eateries. We really only did a drive through on a couple of occasions as opposed to visiting properly but it did look nice and looked well worth a full weekend visit in the future.

Quite a nice village.
Quite a nice village. Black Horse pub pleasant but unfortunately kitchen was closed during my visit. Cross Keys overpriced for basic cuisine, 12.5% service charge was unexpected. Co-op well stocked and in centre of village.

I was visiting friends in the Chilterns. Missenden Abbey is a tranquil spot close to the village and it is a wedding and business events venue it so it’s grounds are large. There was a Euro 2020(21) event taking place on the lawn. My room was a single in the coach house but was comfortable and overlooked a water feature in a decorative pond. Breakfast was good so a very acceptable and cost effective place to stay in an area where HS2 construction has filled the budget hotels.
it was and absolutely beautiful location, the grounds are kept beautifully and the the hotel it’s self is lovely. the staff are very friendly and helpful and it was spotless. we loved walking around the grounds and came across a charity garden they have that help disabled volunteers to grow plants and vegetables that they use in their kitchen! we spoke to some of the volunteers and the staff running the foundation and it really
touched our hearts.
The hotel is well presented and clean. The staff were welcoming and upgraded us to a better room on arrival as they were quiet, which was great. The breakfast provided was of good quality if limited in scope (see dislikes) and the service good. The car park was convenient, and the bathroom was very modern with a great power shower. The bed was comfortable, and the size of the room was adequate but not generous.
Quiet room, comfortable bed - looking onto an attractive pond with many huge carp. Quiet zone adhered to after 9.00 p.m. Good location with walking distance to Great Missenden and various pubs and restaurants. Breakfast adequate - both cooked and continental style. Staff welcoming and friendly.
The room was amazing! We booked a table for dinner too. We would highly recommend it. Such lovely food in a beautiful setting with a fairy lit tipi. A really relaxing stay. Everyone at the Nags Head Hotel were so welcoming and warm! Thanks for a fab stay. Alice and Mark x
