Shona is a wonderful and kind host. Probably the nicest person we've come across so far on our trip. She always wants to make sure you're comfortable, and has such lovely tips for enjoying the area. We loved the town, and the property is so beautiful and well kept. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, made with love. The area has so many walking trails, and birds chirping all day and night. So peaceful. Thank you Shona for your hospitality!

Strathallan Bed and Breakfast, hotel in Grantown on Spey

In the Highland village of Grantown-on-Spey, Strathallan Bed and Breakfast lies in the northern region of the Cairngorms National Park.

We liked the location, the property, the room, the little extras in the room, the breakfasts were varied and really nice. It was nice to have sufficient parking spaces for all the guests. Isla and her brother are fantastic hosts, they couldn't do enough for each of the guests. They provided lots of really useful local information with history and also information for people traveling further afield. A big thumbs up from my wife and I. If we were ever to visit the area again we would contact this host above all others.

It’s a super wee village with all the shops, cafes, bars and restaurants you would want. Close to woodland walks from the town and short drive to the river and mountains of the Cairngorms a more relaxed feel than the nearby town of Aviemore.

A beautiful area with ancient forest, a local honey maker, an amazing selection of local shops - refillery, bookshop, stationery shop, big supermarket. This is a lovely place to stay to explore the Cairngorm national park. Easy to drive to highlights like Rothy Murchus and Loch Garten. Also lots of other adjacent areas like Nethy Bridge, Forres and Findhorn.

Beautiful area to spend time in. The town is small, has some nice walks and cute cafes. It's in a gorgeous location surrounded by the Cairngorms so I definitely recommend for a weekend getaway, or even a few nights to get yourself out in nature.

The stay in Haus Alba was amazing and cozy!!! From te start it felt like home. David and Beate are really nice and the breakfast they made is jummy. The fact that David is an expert in the whisky scene is a big bonuspoint. He drives you around the speyside whiskytrail and knows where you get the good stuff. There is more what made it a terrific stay. The location is perfect. Grantown on Spey is a proper town with a couple off pubs and resto's where the food is good. 10/10!!!!

Loved staying in this lovely quirky cottage in ideal location. Very clean on arrival, all bedding and plenty towels supplied for 3 of us. Staircase, uneven floors and outdated kitchen equipment not for some, I felt added to character of property, made a cooked breakfast one morning no problem, otherwise mostly ate out at Grantown on Speys various excellent pubs and restaurants.

We stayed in 8 hotels during out tour of Scotland and Ravenscourt House was our favorite. Nic was an excellent host. We loved the bar, the breakfast and the onsite restaurant which we ate at our first night. Nic was very helpful and and always available. He mixed us Gin and tonics and lent us ice packs to treat our injuries lol. Loved it here.

The B&B was perfect. Great location, amazing food (the avacado/tomato on homemade bread was amazing) Thomas was a wonderful host; he went above and beyond and nothing was any trouble. He secured us a dinner reservation at a near by restaurant for the first night, which was also amazing. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

This is one of those grand old hotels with plaid carpeting, stag decor, and photos of birds. They bill themselves the wildlife hotel. They can recommend birding spots. You right next to the Cairngorms and about 30 miles from Culloden. Lovely dinner followed by several drams of the local whiskies in the cozy bar.
