We were there as a base for a friends wedding.
We were there as a base for a friends wedding. It's a lovely town. The Abbey is well worth a visit and there's also the Tor and Chalice Well...the town is good for mooching about as well and there's a really good Italian restaurant called GIGI's which we enjoyed.

Glastonbury is as you would expect it to be, quirky and friendly.
Everything shut earlier that I am used to in London.
There's a great fish & chip shop.
All in all I was happy to find the locals really lovely & helpful.

The attractions are all close to each other and walkable...
The attractions are all close to each other and walkable without needing transport. The Chalice Gardens are a serene and wonderful place to visit and definitely recommended. The waters are highly rich in iron and can be drunk in small amounts from the lion's head fountain (tested for potability). It is possible to paddle in the water due to its legendary healing properties. I would have visited the White Water Spring also, but it was closed on the day we visited as it is volunteer run and depends on their availability. The town is very interesting, especially if you are into crystals. We had lunch in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bistros. A climb up the Tor is a must for the view from the top. There were three musicians making music in the tower and it was wonderful, it made my whole visit perfect. A visit to Glastonbury is as magical as its legends.

I've visited Glastonbury many times and it never gets old.
I've visited Glastonbury many times and it never gets old. There is something very unique about this place. Embrace the quirkiness, enjoy the history, amble around the shops full of all things 'witchy' and have a pint at the pub. You won't regret it.
There was a lot to like. Its was self contained so we could do what we wanted when we wanted, far better than a hotel room in my/our opinion. Apple Cottage was clean, tidy, well stocked with utensils so cooking not a problem. Nice to sit and watch telly after a day tramping up the Tor. Its very close to Glastonbury centre 5 mins by car, so shopping and sight seeing is easy. Far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet after the crowds. Superb service by Jill and team. A proper home from home what was not to like.
Jen & Jamie have created a lovely friendly, well-appointed 'home from home' which will be my 1st choice the next time I'm in Glastonbury (rather than chain hotels). It's cosy, clean, with a lovely bathroom (bath and separate shower), comfortable and welcoming. The lovely welcoming note and extras in the fridge etc. were a very nice surprise & much appreciated. Meeting Jamie as I left was a nice end to the visit. Look forward to the next one :-)
The Crown hotel is in a great location in the centre of Glastonbury. We stayed in the Bob Marley room which was nicely decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. Food was excellent and great value for money - breakfast amazing - a cut above - Also staff really friendly and helpful - On our arrival the hotel manager saw us to our room and offered to take our bags etc - A great place to stay we can really recommend this hotel.
I really enjoyed my stay. Bella was amazing and very caring, the Breakfast was plenty and nicely arranged. Even though it is explained that you do it yourself, everything was laid out perfectly and it was nice to chat with other guests over a nice cup of coffe/tea. The place was spottless! I have never stayed in a place this clean - even in a 5 Star Hotel you can find little bits, but here, everything was very tidy and clean!
Martin and Sarah have really thought of every tiny little detail to make your stay comfortable. It's like a home away from home, and I always look out for it when I'm booking for the Glastonbury area, although it's usually fully occupied, which isn't surprising. Well stocked kitchen with all utensils and a good selection of breakfast ingredients, they even give you mini toiletries like an upmarket hotel!
Ancient pub/hotel in the centre of Glastonbury - loads of history associated with this place. Paid the extra for a "four poster" room - well worth it as it was a great room - good sized room at the front of the building.
Good beer and plenty of cubbyholes to enjoy, also outside area was mainly under canvas canopies which was good.
Good helpful staff.
Didn't see any ghosts!
A place to unwind with a beautiful view, as the name of the accommodation also suggests, a little hideaway. Everything I needed was present, a comfortable warm bed, big cups of tea, silence, privacy and the owner's helpfulness when I needed it. I felt at home, it's definitely my favourite place when I'm in Glastonbury. Everything is nearby for sightseeing and to experience.
Loved the location, in the heart of Glastonbury High Street. Wonderful & Magical experience, we are looking forward to visiting again in a few months again.
We used the main car park, easy walk with our luggage to the accommodation. Co-Op is nearby for essentials, Boots opposite, the Magic of Glastonbury all around........what else can we wish for?
Friendly, welcoming staff. Hotel located in a fantastic location for exploring all Glastonbury has to offer. wonderful array of books, artefacts, tarot cards and even a ritual room available for use. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. So nice to eat communally and meet interesting people from all over the world. can’t wait to come back!
Lovely clean hotel room which was large. You are right in the centre of Glastonbury, and there is a large paid car park behind the hotel. Breakfast was spot on, with a good variety to choose from.
Each of the rooms is named after a headliner of Glastonbury :-). Perfect for a short stay and great location.
I had a wonderful stay at this B&B! The host's hospitality was top-notch, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delightful. Its central location made exploring Glastonbury a breeze. This place perfectly fits the bill for a short stay, and I look forward to returning next May. Highly recommend!
If you're unsure about anything in Glastonbury, Jeremy and Claudie have a long list of hidden gems to keep you adventuring day after day. A very clean space, in an incredible location, with very supportive home keepers, I really enjoyed and loved my stay at Stargaia Retreat. And the views! Stunning.
With heartfelt gratitude, I thank Julie and Tor for their hospitality, generosity, and wisdom. Breakfast was delicious! If you are on a spiritual journey to Glastonbury, look no further: Make this B&B your first stop. (And book a tour with Tor to Stonehenge and Avebury. It could change your life.)
Well firstly we were upgraded. A pleasant and unexpected surprise. Obviously this is an old hotel VERY old but is in a central location. Yes it’s a little tired and bathrooms and carpets could be better but it does the job and better than a a soulless Premier Inn.
If ever there were a perfect vacation home, this is it. The home itself is exceptional and exactly as advertised. It was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. The hosts are outstanding, and the location is absolutely ideal for visiting Glastonbury.
A really nice apartment that is clearly loved and cared for by it's owner. Really easy to obtain the keys and in a nice location that has easy to access central Glastonbury. Finding it was easy and had it's own parking. Overall we had an excellent time!
Breakfast and extra treats, infinite teabags and coffees were all very generous and the extra space including a kitchen, comfy and extra hangout, living spaces with the most creative, interesing & mystical decor we had decor seen in guesthouse/hotel
Already for us on arrival. The location was perfect, walking distance to The Tor, Chalice Wells and just 10-15 mins from Glastonbury center. After a full day out, it was great to relax out on the decking in such a peaceful setting.
Great place to stay in Glastonbury on Goddess knee in Louisa's sanctuary within short walking distance to sacred sites.
Enjoyed drinking tea & coffee with splendid Sommerset view from the kitchen.
