Beautiful location. Lovely clean rooms. Fresh milk for tea. Honesty bar. Good food although limited menu at night. Friendly staff. Breakfast staff and kitchen staff were amazing. It's just what a pub should be. No glaring lights or rowdy music. Beautiful views from terrace. Sadly had to cut holiday short due to illness.

I like Cornwall and all the quaint, quirky small towns with narrow streets and steps, you can't beat the scenery and the wonderful rural lanes or the crowds of summer tourists and the summer tourist prices everywhere, especially when eating out !

Lots of character. It does get busy but never feels overcrowded.
Nice like beach at ReadyMoney Cove.
One large car park at the top of the town, with several smaller ones in the town centre .

The trip to Mevagissi is enjoyable especially as we saw dolphins!
The town just seems soul less, full of empty second homes and overpriced restaurants

Views of the estuary. Great walking routes.
A busy bustling place. Good car parking either side of the town. I would recommend the Bodenick ferry end of town for parking.

There are excellent hiking opportunities around the Fowey River. You can also paddle, SUP or go on a one-hour river cruise. You can cross the river to the village of Poruan by boat and ferry, and you can take a bicycle with you. There is also a boat connection to the other shore of St Austell Bay to the village of Mevagissey, from where you can cycle to Heligan Gardens. Charlestown, Tregrehan and Pinetum gardens and Polperro can be reached by bicycle. Alternatively, you can also travel by bus. Leave your car at home or, if necessary, drive to the village on the northern road and leave the car in the parking area on the northern edge of the village. Don't drive through the crowded one lane city center, even if the GPS suggests it.

Fowey is a good base to enable travelling around that side of the coast. Fowey itself is very nice with lots of lovely shops and plenty of places to eat. Parking can be busy but there are plenty of carparks so may need to visit more than one to find a space but we didn’t have a problem. Download the green JustPark app as it makes things easier, to extend times remotely and get time reminders. There’s a nice walk that you take over the car ferry walk (Hall walk located up Hall Terrace) around the opposite coast and the come back via the local ferry at Pulruan. It’s about 6 miles and very up/down and is quite sloppy if wet but has some lovely views. There’s also a ferry that goes to Megavessey from Fowey. We did a trip on the Seafari out of Fowey from the Caffa Mill carpark which was a very good 2hour trip around the coast exploring remote beaches and also the wild life. We saw two lots of seals in different locations. Ross our captain was very knowledgeable on the area and was assisted by Alfie. It’s a comfy fast boat. We ate at Haveners, The Quay Hotel and Sams whilst staying and found them all excellent.
The views are stunning and just this is me factor would tempt me back. The lounge is very comfortable with lovely recliners in the window and binoculars provided. We spent long periods just watching boats, paddle-boards, ferries, even a cruise ship. The sofas and dining area is also very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The location is excellent and Belinda, the owner, was very helpful via text. Having parking right outside, and so near to Fowey centre, is a very big bonus because parking is difficult in the town.
Beautiful decor in the hotel, enhanced by a working vintage lift. Breakfast was exceptional. I had something different each day, and the quality was top notch. We can say as a couple, the breakfast was the best we have had in a hotel, to date. Staff friendly, especially the efficient breakfast team. Beautiful views, enhanced by use of the gardens, and ease of walking into Fowey town centre We felt the staff cared about giving a good service, and also that we were in safe hands.
Great views from the bedrooms and bar over Fowey Quay. Excellent staff, extremely friendly, polite and helpful.
Breakfasts were fine with a good options, we also ate in the bar one evening and the meals were good and generous.
There is no parking onsite due to the central location. We parked at Caffa St. car park which is a gentle 10 min walk from the hotel. 24hr parking is very reasonable age £6.50. Suggest you use Just Park app to book.
We were sad to leave this beautiful, airy, comfortable flat, watching the boats in the harbour come and go from our balcony window. Fowey is a magical place, and the Captain’s Penthouse was the perfect base for exploring the village and beyond. We loved it here.
