Everything at the Pheasant Inn was superb. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Every attention to detail. We are already planning to return. Great location close to Kielder Water Visitor Centre and to walks around the reservoir and in the forest.

We’d been looking for a family room near the Kielder Observatory and most pubs needed us to take two rooms or other accommodation needed us to stay two nights. The Boe Rigg had a family room and very reasonably priced. The photos didn’t do the accommodation justice. When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised to find a lovely large airy room with both kitchen facilities and an tv/seating area. There’s a lovely cozy bar area in the public section, restaurant and outdoor tables overlooking beautiful fields which is home to the campsite. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming. There is some renovation work going on it the campsite facilities but it wasn’t a problem.

The hotel was just what we had been looking for. The facilities were clean and in good condition, nothing over the top but suited our needs for the one night stay. It was the STAFF that were outstanding. They made the stay go from a good to very good one, to an outstanding one night stay. Thank you to the staff!

The property was refurbished I believe in 2019, The room we were given was superb, en-suite facilities with Jacuzzi bath, separate shower, We booked in on a Sunday and the restaurant was closed, no problem the Cheviot pub 50 yards down the rd, Breakfast was excellent, Staff very helpful. And fully secure cycle store.

We loved the area we were in, beautiful scenery, however, the information we were provided with states the local pub/restaurant which was only one mile away was really nice for eating out. There were 2 pubs up the road but they were closed Monday and Tuesday the days of our stay at the cottage, this was disappointing.

We went for a relaxing week whilst our kitchen was being refitted. The accommodation was superb, set in a quiet track near to the village of Falstone. A superb area for walking as within walking distance (2 miles) of Keilder forest. Bellingham and Hexham are fairly close for shopping.

The location, the breakfast and the bathroom were the best things.
The atmosphere (or lack of), the fact that we were not made to feel very welcome was the downside. We were also chased up to pay the bill before we had actually checked out ie. straight after finishing breakfast) and the very detailed bill including my full name and address was left laid out on the bar waiting for me (not very GDPR!!)

Did not feel like we were treated like human beings.
Did not feel like we were treated like human beings. We were spoken down to when trying to put across our concerns of dissapointment with the venue. Hygiene and cleanliness was far from the standards you'd expect for the price you pay. There were many issues with our first nights stay. We did get an amazing upgrade in which we cannot fault. However the attitude of the owner was very concerning.
The hotel was delightful and the hosts were very receptive, pleasant and helpful. The room was light and airy and contained everything we needed and the bed was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts and the evening meals were absolutely delicious, tasty and good sized portions, with plenty of choice. Highly recommend a visit!
Falstone Barns are very picturesque and maintained to a high standard. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The location was ideal for cycling and walking and within easy travelling distance for places such as Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders; we certainly enjoyed our stay.
Great beer, amazing food, clean, quiet, spacious, warm, comfy beds, awesome hot showers fantastic value breakfast, friendly helpful staff, friendly guests, wonderful hosts, secure parking. Our second stay at the hotel, we'll be returning. A real destination hotel. Short drive to Bellingham or Kielder water
The breakfast menu was extensive, all presented and very good quality. The Dinner menu, again, was very good, the food was well presented and excellent quality. The location of the hotel was ideally suited to both visit the Hadrian's wall sites and Kielder Water.
All very pleasant. a lovely pub/hotel tucked away but excellent for access to Kielder Forest and our Dark Sky night. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Room spacious and comfortable. Would stay again. Thank you
The hotel exceeded our expectations. Its a beautiful little hotel in a beautiful setting. Nothing was a problem for the staff, who were so helpful. We will definitely be back again
