The location is great as it’s only a five-ten min walk to the middle of derby center depending on where you’re going. The staff were so nice and inviting, they even do a fun game wheel for booking.com customers. The entire hotel was very clean, they are still renovating a bit but I had a good experience.
The hotel is located 23 miles away from Alton Towers Resort ( one of the most popular theme park), 16 miles away from East Midlands Airport ( EMA), Burton Albion Football Club is 5 miles away.

The room was quiet, but there was a faulty air conditioner / heater unit that automatically started up at 7:00am each morning, making sound like heavy raining on a tin roof. This was a bit disturbing and it woke me up. I did report it to reception, so I can only hope that this was rectified ready for the next guest to use that room.
The room was at the end of a corridor, meaning no footfall of other guests passing by so was very quiet in that respect.

We stayed as we hired a room for a party. The room(s) we hired were just wonderful. We had the run of 4 interconnecting rooms all splendidly furnished and decorated with period ornaments and artefacts. The buffet spread was excellent and actually too much. We ordered a buffet for 20 people to cater for approx 30 who turned up and there was plenty left. The catering and bar staff couldn't do enough to help us.

Bordering the Peak District, pioneering Derby was the site of the first factory during the Industrial Revolution. The city was a silk producer and a former mill forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Derwent Valley Mills, lining the Derwent River between Derby and Matlock.
Also by the river is Darley Park which hosts an annual chamber orchestra concert. The city centre arboretum was England’s first public park, and Markeaton Park in the north-west has a light railway. Nearby is the university campus and 18th-century Kedleston Hall, a Palladian-style mansion involved in filming of ‘The Duchess’.
Another royal connection is Bonnie Prince Charlie who stayed at Exeter House. A replica of his room is in Derby Museum and Art Gallery, and there is a statue of him in Cathedral Square. Opposite is the oldest pub, the Dolphin Inn, but the best nightlife is around Friar Gate.
The nearby Cathedral Quarter is full of eateries and shops, and the Westfield Centre houses big name brands. The Grade II-listed Market Hall offers a range of stalls above underground tunnels which are supposedly haunted by one of Derby’s many ghosts.
Derby County FC play at Pride Park, near the train station and several hotels with parking. Booking.com also offers cheap apartments and guest houses near East Midlands Airport.

At the conference centre, All Staff were caring and considerate of all clients, regardless of needs. The hotel bedroom was deep cleaned between each client. Were willing to go that extra mile.
Will come back soon.
Derby parking restrictions in town centre made it difficult for disabled persons to drive themselves, park safely, and retain independence in areas around combined Court and water areas, etc.
Taxis had to be used from conference centre return, but drivers were a credit to Derby, kind, courteous and helpful.
The suggested car parking not easy to access and nearest was closed.
Signage was confusing to someone not familiar with Derby.
We chose to eat in the conference centre due to road congestion we noticed on way in and after going in and out by taxi. We also utilised shops for snacks while in town.

The art gallery was interesting, especially the surrealist paintings. I highly recommend the Kedleston Hall! The staffs there were really helpful and informative, and the elegant interior design is especial. The Pickford’s House is interesting too, because there’re many grand upper-class mansions open to tourists but not homey middle-class houses like this. Everyone I met in this town was friendly, like we’d been friends for years.

Derby is a fantastic city for an weekend stay.
Derby is a fantastic city for an weekend stay.
Plenty of bars and restaurants. Perfect for shopping too.
Very lively on a Saturday night.
Personally I would recommend more Christmas activities. What was there was nicely done though.
We liked everything about this hotel, which we chose because of its proximity to friends we were visiting. It is also very convenient for Ashbourne and the Derbyshire Dales. Extremely comfortable room, good food, wonderful staff (friendly and efficient) and "dog friendly". A table was reserved for us in the bar so that we could eat with our dog. We felt that it was excellent value for money and when we need to stay in this area again we won't hesitate to return here - provided they have a room free!
Well located for the town centre and easy to access by car. Plenty of car parking spaces behind the hotel. I would consider staying here again if travelling to Derby by car in the future. Comfortable bed. Full sized bath and decent shower. The staff were helpful when I told them the room safe wasn't working and I couldn't close the small window. They sent the maintenance man to the room within 5 minutes. Good lighting in the room so it was easy to work at the desk.
The location is fairly good, not too far from the centre but along a busy road. Fortunately enough the new, double-glazed windows isolate the noise very well. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff was always helpful and friendly. I also liked the room, especially the spacious bathroom. The heating was simply perfect. If by any chance I am going to visit Derby once again, most probably I will stay at the same hotel.
Fantastic location with £8 overnight parking at the nearby Derbion shopping centre, quite a large room considering the cheap price, staff were very helpful and friendly. Powerful air conditioning and the hotel itself is easily walkable distance from everything in the town centre. Weren't able to use the gym but great that there is that facility and the staff reminded us we had access to the gym when we checked in.
The hotel was lovely and clean bed was so comfy, the staff were really nice both in the restaurant and on check in desk
We had a meal in the evening and breakfast in the morning both were lovely
We didnt catch his name but the guy with the long hair in the restaurant was very pleasant and welcoming
Would definately recommend derby Mickleover hotel
I stayed at the Derby Conference Centre as I was enrolled on a course about 15 minutes away. The room was basic but clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was okay. I have stayed in nicer places (decor, etc), but for the cost and convenience, I was happy. Free parking for hotel guests.
It was one of the best hotels ever I have experienced . The stuff are really really friendly . I really want to come back here again . It is highly recommended. There are a lot if restaurants and supermarkets just minutes walking . 2 minutes walking to the one of the beautiful parks .
The property was cosy and well furnished. The location was ideal for visiting nearby places and close to lots of shops (and the best bakery chain in Derbyshire, Birds). There was barely any noise from the pub below the hotel. We slept very well every night!
the location is great right near derby centre , lots of food places right on the doorstep lots of supermarkets and world foods if you want to cook yourself , lovely clean and modern apartment , well stocked kitchen and really comfy beds ,sofa bed is great ,
Great communication with the owner from beginning to end. This property is perfectly situated for good access to many areas of Derby. House was clean, comfortable & welcoming. Will definitely try & stay here again when we visit our family in the future.
I have been booking a room at Kings Highway, Derby for several months fortnightly as a base for my son and grandson to spend time together in an excellent environment enjoyed by both. Shall continue into 2023 with next visit in January.
For me the location was perfect as I had quite a lot of business in the centre of Derby. The hotel is situated very near to a huge covered bus stop. Every bus from this stop goes into the centre this was very useful.
