The room was fine. The bed was comfortable, the walls thick enough to keep out the noise and the shower was strong with consistent hot water. The rooms were a bit dated and did smell a little bit musty when we went in. The common areas of the hotel were great. We had drinks and food at the small bar each night and did some ready in the library area. The breakfast was also very good with a fair amount of choices for the main plate and a small buffet with juices, bread, yogurt etc. All-in-all a decent place for two nights

Fantastic welcome and very comfortable stay! This was my most comfortable and welcoming stop on the West Highland Way. I was offered a lift down the road for dinner, and in the morning woke to a delicious full Scottish breakfast and dry boots.

We booked very late (minutes before arriving) but were warmly greeted, and Rod was extremely helpful and concerfor our comfort and ensuring that we were able to eat dinner at the local pub before it finished serving. The atmosphere at the house was warm and inviting. Breakfast options were very good. There were several options that we didn’t take advantage of, but it was nice they were available, such as laundry service, packed lunches, snacks. Rod was very helpful with trail knowledge, what to expect ahead, etc.

Beautiful campsite in stunning location. Campsite was well kept and very quiet. Our pod was immaculately clean, very comfortable and cozy. Had a small kitchen and toilet which was brilliant, ment no cold walks in the middle of the night. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We will most definitely be back.

Crianlarich is a wee village in the heart of the southern highlands, ideally placed for hiking, especially if you are climbing Munros -- there must be 30 or more within 40 miles, and about 4 you can climb right from the village. It is very easily accessed by train and bus, although having a car gives you a lot more options. There is one small shop that seems to sell everything!
Places you can visit easily from Crianlarich include Falls of Dochart, Loch Tay, Glen Lochay, Glen Lyon, Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Glen Orchy, Glen Etive.

The village is small with one shop.
The village is small with one shop. The local pub serves good food. The problem I encountered was to do with the misleading mileage on the West Highland Way from Rowardennan. It was actually 22 miles and over half of it over very rocky/muddy paths alongside Loch Lomond. Getting to and staying at Crianlarich was a nice relief

Crianlarich is the village at the gateway to the Highlands...
Crianlarich is the village at the gateway to the Highlands proper, as you travel up the A82. Station, post office, pub, hotel, village shop all good (no cafe at the moment, it was on the station platform but closed in August 2023). Only a few spots (e.g. the railway station) have a 4G signal. Several accommodation options including the upmarket Hotel. Food at the hotel, or at the Rod & Reel, or 10 min up the road in Tyndrum.
The cabin was lovely, it was built in front of some pine trees and it felt like being out in the wilderness when it was quiet. The village of Crianlarich is a 10 minute walk, there is a pub a shop and a hotel there with a public bar.
I arrived with a lot of luggage and when my check out day arrived, the chap who runs the place kindly gave me a lift to the hotel for the next part of my journey.
The accomodation will be fantastic in the warmer weather, and I believe that there are BBQ facilities available.
Friendly welcome from host, extremely clean all through the building and the room, including the bathroom. Beautiful location with walks around the property and up into the hills if you want. Excellent breakfast, I had a full Scottish fried breakfast and its was as good as Ive ever had, even in top hotel restaurants. Very comfortable and good nights sleep in a quiet location, its close to the main road but not within hearing distance.
Breakfast was good, set up well to offer a brilliant choice. The family lodge was more spacious than we were expecting. Brilliant location for a quiet getaway while still able to explore Loch Lomond and the surrounding area. The staff were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. A good menu on offer for dinner - every meal we tried we all thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be back as soon as we can organise another trip away!
The restaurant that's part of the hotel is fantastic - the food portions are great and very, very tasty. The full Scottish breakfast was perfect too. The reception and restaurant staff are very friendly and kind too, we were served by Andrew and he was particularly nice. The room is spacious, the bed is great. Parking very convenient. Don't miss the short walk to the river behind the viaduct - great views from there!
John was a wonderful host and he went the extra mile to help us whilst walking the West Highland Way. Room was very comfortable and our breakfast was excellent. My daughter and I loved our stay here, if your on the West Highland Way this is a great spot to stay not far of the trail, Crianlarich has everything you need but make sure you stay here..
Our host Shona went above and beyond. We were very late because of a road closure...she kept in touch with information and was waiting for us at the end of a very stressful journey. Covid care was evident and well- organised, without encroaching on our enjoyment.Everything was wonderful for us and we completely endorse the other positive reviews.
The communal areas were large and well equipped. A nice place to eat, and relax. The staff gave a warm welcome and were very helpful. Lovely location too. It was a nice touch to have usb charging points in the bedroom too. The shop down the road had ample supplies for food for dinner, and the bar in the best western hotel was nice for a drink.
The couple that ran this bed and breakfast were so kind and accommodating. The room was very cost with a very nice bathroom. Breakfast was also delicious and they went above and beyond in preparation. It was a perfect place to stay while hiking the West Highland Way.
Veronica and Colin clearly take pride in providing their guests with exceptional food and accommodations. The quality of their facility was incomparable thus far on the way. We have stayed in many lovely places, but theirs is full of loving touches.
Excellent B&B. I simply cannot fault this place. Charming hosts, the house is full of character, there's a cosy guest lounge with TV and fire, beautiful interior design, fabulous breakfast (buffet plus a la carte menu) and a playful dog!
Pretty much what you expect from a BW. Nothing fancy or extraordinary, but generally solid.
The restaurant on site was quite good. Our waiter Andrei was great, very friendly and attentive. The haggis, neppis, and tatties were tasty.
I am writing this post a few months late, apologies. I haven't written many reviews before but John (our host) was so thoughtful and kind during our stay it was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you, John!
