Our room was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with good quality mattress .
Breakfast was beautiful and the staff were very polite and friendly making the breakfast time very relaxing . We didn’t have a main meal when we checked in only because we don’t when travelling on our first night . Will definitely book here again and for longer next time .

Strathardle Lodge is a real gem. The original building is over 300 years old, but has been lovingly restored, refurbished and maintained. It sits on the banks of the River Ardle, with fishing rights to 100 metres of river in front of the lodge. Two beautifully furnished, cosy lounges with new leather chairs and open fires (in winter). An extensive range of 10 and 12 year old single malt whiskies and some blends too. New owner Chris (since March 2023) will happily share his thoughts on each and offer guidance to help your choice. There’s also a well-stocked bar with several gins, beer, red and white wine and soft drinks, with accompanying snacks. The freezer is packed with a variety of well-priced, ready-made frozen meals which guests can buy and cook (microwave) themselves. The rooms are large and airy, and EXCEPTIONALLY clean, with large bathroom and deep, claw-foot bath. Continental and cooked breakfasts are included in the tariff. Choices include traditional Haggis and Black Pudding. This property has a real, home-away-from-home, comfortable, cosy, relaxing atmosphere. We loved it and wished we could have stayed longer.
