I loved the view over Lake Windmere, the room was so clean and the room had a bathtub which I appreciated after a long journey.

The property was well placed, on a river for which we had a lake view which was lovely. Spa facility was really nice although almost cost as much as proper, don’t really think it was worth £50pp at all unless treatments already included

Everything about the Red Lion Inn was exceptional. Very friendly staff, clean, large rooms with comfortable beds & newly updated bathrooms. Extremely good food & welcoming atmosphere! We’d absolutely stay again!
With incredible mountain views, this traditional, family-owned guest accommodations has a real log fire and wooden beams in its cozy bar and restaurant.
Location is good, and an excellent pub nearby. However, the parking was a small hard standing between the annexe and the road, not a 'drive' as the information claimed. The gateway was narrow too.
Whilst the property was mostly clean and adequately equipped, there were a lot of cobwebs. The shower is unsafe as the on-off switch does not always work, and it lacks a seal on the door. The wood-burner is unsafe as the handle comes off and the door is not properly insulated. We couldn't fathom how to turn on the radiators. The patio is overgrown and looks slippery, and the pond in the garden is hidden by vegetation. Attention to these matters would make it much more attractive, as it has potential.
