This is a wonderful place for people who like to stay somewhere with character. It's an early Victorian house, decorated with antique prints and stunning family portraits. Breakfast is served in the owners' vast library. Ideal for history buffs.

Lovely little hotel and great for a short stop off. Cozy little room, very comfortable and quiet - had a wonderful night's sleep. Hotel managers were incredibly friendly and welcoming and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Evening meal was very tasty with huge portions and the breakfast was great as well.

Chirnside is a lovely small village near Duns in the Scottish borders.Jim Clark the 1963/65 World motor racing driver was brought up there and is buried in the local churchyard. It is a short drive to the town of Berwick On Tweed.Everywhere we visit we buy local fish and chips, but the Chirnside chip shop was not very good.Soggiest chips i ever had.Duns is close by and well worth a visit. You can visit the Jim Clark museum and see a great collection of cars and his trophies won all over the world.

From the moment we arrived you could feel yourself relaxing, check-in was easy, friendly and warm. Going into our room we were taken back by the views and how well appointed the room was. Evening meal was superb, fresh local produce, respected and cooked to perfection. The cosy dining room allowed for that personal touch by the staff which made you feel as if you were the only guests. Breakfast was as delicious as the evening meal and as guests we all welcomed each other and made comment to the lovely location and evening meal. A stay which excels some of the more prestigious hotels brands!

I wish I'd had more time here, especially with regards to the food. If you let the staff know in advance that you have dietary requirements they can accommodate anything. Knowing that the chef (who's used to cooking game) was excited to be catering for vegans was refreshing.

Chirnside is a quiet village about 7 miles west of Berwick on Tweed but easily accessible to the A1. It was an excellent base from which to tour Northumberland, the Borders and the coastline north of Berwick through to Edinburgh

Food is fantastic and staff brilliant.
Food is fantastic and staff brilliant. Location great for exploring the coast etc. Rooms comfy and good views.
Could have changed menu on the Sunday as was the same 3 choices for main as the Saturday.
The staff were wonderful. Friendly and smiling the whole time, even when they were busy and multitasking. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was marvellous.
