The Mariners Hotel, hotel in Chideock

Featuring sea views, The Mariners Hotel is nestled in the heart of Lyme Regis. Dating back to the 17th century, this former coaching inn has a large private garden and rooms with free WiFi access.

Our sea view room lived up to its label: the views over the town and coast were stunning. The hotel is old and characterful with wonky floors, beams and low ceilings: we like that. Short walk downhill to the harbour and free car parking. Good value for the price.

It was lovely sitting in the garden and relaxing, easily suited 4 adults. All rooms were exceptional. We all enjoyed a peaceful stay and ate in the village which was great. The people in Chideock were really friendly. We ate at the Clock on Saturday but everything closes at 6.00 on Sunday which meant we didn’t have time for a dinner that night. Our host had warned us of this before hand

Very conveniently located for the coast path, inland countryside, and local towns. Good Spar and pub, with other good pubs in nearby villages. A35 running through the centre of the village is very busy, but does mean there is a good bus service to Lyme and Bridport, and beyond.

Very central for sightseeing and exploring. Plenty of interesting walks, two nearby pubs to choose from for evening meals. Main road through the village is very heavy with traffic, be nice if they have a bypass sometime soon.
