The staff were just off the scale friendly and welcoming. Experiences like this are why independents can be so great. Handwritten welcome note and cake in the room! Excellent food too, a lovely venue, good car parking, and a ridiculously good value price. Wish it had been more than a flying visit on business

Our sea view room lived up to its label: the views over the town and coast were stunning. The hotel is old and characterful with wonky floors, beams and low ceilings: we like that. Short walk downhill to the harbour and free car parking. Good value for the price.

Good position in Lyme Regis. Very hilly so got our hearts pumping. Positive kitchen facilities. Nice not to be restricted to certain breakfast times. Facilities were clean and sufficient for our two night stay.

Lovely little town, not too busy, and the beach is great for fossil hunting. The Heritage Coast Centre is a must if you are in the area, full of fascinating fossil samples and facts and displays. Also has a cafe attached for drinks and snacks.

It’s winter so much of the town is closed however for hikers and the like, it’s an excellent time to visit.
In the summer, Charmouth can be very busy, especially the beach., but iconic beach, beautiful setting.

We stopped for a week and I could definitely have stayed longer, money allowing. I really like Charmouth. We went the first time probably 10 years ago and wanted to go back. I was not disappointed. I only went for fossil collecting, and came back very happy.

Wonderful beach for fossil hunting.
Wonderful beach for fossil hunting. Make sure you visit the discovery centre on the beach to check out tips on fossil hunting. Staff are very helpful.
Charmouth is very small with 2 great pubs and a fish and chip shop so evening meals are limited . Bookings needed for The Royal Oak, but we'll worth it. The George equally great for a relaxed meal.

We went for the fossils so although it was the wrong time of year the process of looking was satisfactory and we had booked a fossil your with Lyme Regis museum which was very good.
Depending on the tides you can walk along the beaches easily and walk from Charmouth to Lyme Reis easily.
The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the original artwork. The owner provided a fan when requested and it helped on the days when it was hot and humid outside. The owner thought of everything a traveler might need. The Jurassic Coast bus comes every hour and provides comfortable transportation from Charmouth, to Lyme Regis and beyond. It stops at Fernhill Hotel which is on the same property.
Fantastic cottage. Clean and cosy, comfortable with everything you need. No need to take a thing. Very dog friendly.
Amazing welcome gifts and dogs went forgotten either. So much forethought went into providing everything we needed.
Great location to beach and lyme, Charmouth.
Beautiful views, quiet and relaxing.
Looking forward to booking again

Warm and cosy, perfect after a day of fossil hunting at the local beach. Had everything we needed and was in a perfect location. The shower was lovely, was great having the ensuite toilet in the main bedroom.
Everything was clean and organised.
A short drive to Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Lovely places to eat out at Lyme Regis and also a handy local store to get any bits you need.
Staff affable, helpful, friendly. Location perfect for Charmouth beach, plus very handy parking. Bathroom fittings did not fall off - always a good sign. Breakfast top notch. Very hard to find fault. Room was a little warm, but that was the weather.
Charmouth is a lovely place and Foxley Cottage is the perfect cosy cottage for a long weekend, an easy walk to the beach and very comfortable. It was spotlessly clean and fresh when we arrived and it's well equipped, making settling in very easy.
Modern and well appointed, thoughtfully decorated. Great facilities. Fabulous breakfast. Host was friendly and accommodating and met all our needs. Located close to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this B & B.
Handy for all parts of Charmouth including shops and eateries. Diverse rooms; large kitchen and dining area , handy snug and good seating area of good size in main lounge. Outside pergola area was an asset.
Beautiful far reaching Dorset Countryside views! Lovely little suite with everything you could need! Helpful and friendly hosts who know their village so well. Thank you!
