Heather was absolutely wonderful. She was gracious, funny and very helpful. She made reservations for us at a fabulous restaurant just minutes away from the B&B. She also phoned the shops to help locate a stuffed sheep for my 5 year old granddaughter. The room was adorable with antique furniture and the view from our bedroom window gave an amazing view of the sea. She gave us permission to walk around the property and provided us with fruit and bread to introduce ourselves to her two donkeys Harriet and Henrietta. Which was an amazing treat for us as well. We will definitely be staying there during our next trip. Loved it!!! The grounds of the property were absolutely gorgeous.

Tim was the best host ever!!! I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Gweeberra. Tim has a lovely home with spacious bedrooms and a beautiful breakfast. But, most of all Tim took us in and made us feel extraordinarily welcome. We arrived late in the day and he made sure the local restaurant had a table for us and even drove us over when it appeared the taxi might not arrive in time. Thank you Tim! I do hope to return someday. Do not miss this gem!!!

This is an exceptional studio. Furnished to a very high standard and immaculately clean. Very handy for the train to Belfast or Bangor from where the rest of the network can be accessed. The owner has literally thought of everything here. I could not recommend this highly enough.

A pleasant small town on the shore of Belfast Lough about 10 miles from Belfast, boasting a historic castle, a delightful harbour and marina, and a good prom to stroll along. Good communications by bus or rail, and convenient for the ferries.

Carrickfergus is famous for its Norman castle and keep. The range of shops is not great , but there is a proliferation of chemists! The Marine Highway is great for a good long walk with views of Belfast Lough.

Beautiful sparkling clean town. The walk along the sea is great. The playground opposite the castle is brilliant for young children.
The castle itself is unbelievable. The exhibition is excellent and very educational.

The waterfront was lovely - good information posters, flowers, war memorial etc very nice. Shops a bit on the dull side. Streets could do with a bit of attention re empty shops but were mostly litter free. St. Nicholas' Church was wonderful.

The views from the sea front and walks really good.
The views from the sea front and walks really good. A visit to the castle is a must if you like history.
For value for money on food there is a wetherspoons and couldn't go wrong.
There is a local train station to get to most places and very easy to use, much better than driving especially in to Belfast.
Beautiful room with plenty of space and nice decor. Full breakfast included which is excellent value given the price of the room. It’s super close to Carrickfergus Castle and only about a 15 min drive from Belfast. In hindsight, I would have stayed here for an extra night rather than in Belfast as you wouldn’t be able to find anything close to this for similar prices in Belfast. It was my favourite stay during my 2 week trip in Ireland/Northern Ireland!
Fabulous apartment, spacious, everything high spec, lovely decor, very comfy beds, spotlessly clean. Julie left coffee, tea, milk, juices, cereals and croissants, which were much appreciated. Location perfect with easy links to Belfast and Giants Causeway Coastal Route. Easy private parking and spectacular view of Carrickfergus Castle and Lough Bay. Plenty of amenities close by. Julie was very helpful and responsive. Couldn't fault it in any way
Cottage was really handy for Carrickfergus but in a lovely, quiet location.
Upside-down layout of the house added an extra quirk and meant you got the excellent sea views from the living room.
Bedrooms quiet and comfortable and the en-suite in the upstairs one was a good bonus, particularly if you have kids staying in that room.
Hosts were lovely - really friendly and helpful and our little man enjoyed getting to know the dogs, horses & fish!
The host Melinda was the kindest, funniest more welcoming host we’ve ever had - a real treasure!!
Delicious breaky - especially the sausages and soda bread
Lovely scenic walk around the property and laneway
Quiet refuge from belfast, only 30 min drive from belfast and close to carrickfergus
Enormous tv
Huge space, beautifully decorated for a true irish b&b experience
Extremely clean
Julie's flat was wonderful! It was very nicely decorated and quite comfortable. The windows showed views of the water and the Carrick Fergus castle. Beautiful! Although not expected, Julie left us breakfast food and beverages. And the flat came with off-street parking!
P.s. Julie was an excellent host who reached out to us before, during, and after our stay to ensure we were happy.
Very modern with good wi-fi and comfortable furniture, bedding etc. and some helpful provisions Convenient location for town of Carrickfergus and train stop (Downshire) on Belfast / Larne route. Never saw, just heard occasionally (in fine weather) the neighbours so no issues there. Hosts made themselves available for any help though not called upon much as webpage guide provided.
Melinda was a sweet and wonderful host. The location is very peaceful with fantastic views of the countryside; you can see Scotland from the room! The homemade breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Melinda's lemon jam was outstanding and her hospitality was unbeatable. This was a perfect stop on our visit to Northern Ireland.
Check in was super easy...the bartender dropped everything and brought us next door to show us the room. Everything was decorated cute and was very clean. Tea/coffee in room...and a good breakfast in the restaurant next door. We paid a little extra to get windows facing water and could see castle which was nice!
The property was very homely and inviting, the facilities were great and the whole place was sparkling clean throughout. The location was great, a stone’s throw from Carrickfergus Castle and local shops and restaurants. Was able to park right outside of the property throughout the stay which was a bonus.
We had a pleasant single night stay at the Altahammond and the hosts were welcoming. We had a nice room overlooking the front, and the area was quiet and in nice surroundings. Breakfast was plentiful and we had some good suggestions from the host on places to visit on our travels around Carrickfergus.
The rooms are very very well fitted out .Walters Place is better than a lot of central London hotels that put " five stars" on their websites.I was particularly impressed by the bathrooms with the large low profile walk in showers.
Tip.Fit the USB sockets next to the beds not the desks.
.Very well maintained. Quiet place up a lane way through a sheep pasture. Full Irish breakfast was outstanding. Melinda is a warm and friendly host. Her homemade raspberry jam was fantastic. Best I've ever had. Leafield house is a true taste of authentic Ireland!
We had a pleasurable stay in early October! The host, Heather, was very welcoming and cooked two wonderful full Irish Breakfasts. The room was spacious and the bathroom modern and clean. The location was great for touring the Antrim Coast and Belfast.
Fox Heaven was super clean and spacious. We had a lovely view across the fields from our room. It was a quiet respite from the hustle bustle of Belfast, though a quick drive or train ride away from the city. Full breakfast made to order too!
This was a true bed and breakfast. Lily , our host, was charming, courteous, and a delight. I rarely give 10's (5 star ratings) , however this one was an easy decision.
Highly recommended
Really funky interiors. Felt like staying in a hotel. Big bedroom and en suite. Attached to the pub so there was some noise but not too disturbing. Breakfast was delicious
