John was exceptionally attentive and helpful when I had a bronchitis and was considering seeking medical care. That was before I ever reached his property. My daughter and I were offered two rooms, both spacious, and well appointed there were a variety of snacks, yogurts, and drinks available in each room. The sitting room is lovely and filled with good reads.

An excellent apartment. Clean, tidy and freshly decorated. Excellent communication with host. A spacious apartment that could cater for much larger groups than ours. Recommended.

It was just right, not too busy and not too quiet, unfortunately the ferry from Campbeltown to Ardrossan had been withdrawn so we had to endure the long journey back which was not in our weekend plan. So if you are coming make sure the ferry is operating.

The town is on the downside of things but back on the way up. The two distilleries in town were excellent: Springbank and Glen Scotia and we toured both. Actually there is a small third one, Glengyle as well. There used to be over 100 distilleries before WW1. This is an area known also for its outstanding salmon and cheese. It's relatively undiscovered by tourists as well. I would recommend it and hope to be back again. Getting around in town was done with taxis.

Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!!
Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!! We loved the people there! People would go out of their way to help us with directions or any questions we had. The Harbour is so beautiful, breathtaking!! The town still has an old feel to it with a lot of the original buildings around 1700 to 1800’s still standing and in use!! Gorgeous architecture!! Be sure to tour around town on a rented e-bike or car. Well worth it!!! We had a wonderful stay in Campbeltown!!

I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc.
I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc. and I would encourage more people to visit. It may seem inaccessible as it's so far from everywhere else, so going out of your way to get there is well worth it.

I haven't been to Campeltown for 20 years or so and we visited on our mini tour of southern Scotland. A great base to venture out to Callander, Saddell and Machrihanish.
We ate at No.42. The food is delicious, the staff engaging and welcoming but it's a bit pricey.

Cambeltown is the southern point of the kintyre 66 route.
Cambeltown is the southern point of the kintyre 66 route. It has an interesting working harbour and 2 distilleries to visit. One, Springbank, is right in the middle of the town. Nearby are a couple of golf courses, links I believe. A drive will take you to the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse but once you park there’s a steep hike and the road is challenging and not for long vehicles.
The Argyll Arms is right in the centre of Campbeltown, very close to the ferry terminal, location was ideal.
The staff were very polite and friendly and eager to help. The room was spacious enough but faced the rear of the hotel so had no view as such. Breakfast was a mixture of self service for the likes of fruit juice , cereals ,fruit ect. and waitress service for all the hot stuff, which was tasty and prompt. Evening meals are available but we did not take any, there is a small bar on site which is well stocked.
The apartment was immaculate. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was very roomy. It was a very beautiful apartment right in the heart of Campbeltown. There were some very quirky features and lovely ornaments. Plenty of games and information. We loved the finishing touches! We were left a bottle of wine and milk. There were loads of towels and the kitchen was well equipped. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this apartment. Lovely stay.
Brilliant location for exploring the South of the Kintyre peninsula, only a short drive from Campbeltown, (or walk/bus if you prefer).
Apartment has everything you need to feel at home, we settled to the place the minute we walked in the door.
Although situated near a road, we had no problem at all with traffic noise, and enjoyed a peaceful sleep every night.
Lovely unobstructed views over fields to the hills.
Bruce and Tracey run a great hotel. They have opened up their huge mansion of a home and are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable of the Campbeltown area.
You must try the full Scottish breakfast and also check-out Bruce's very special bar.
The hotel sits at the top of the main road into Campbeltown, with a short ten-minute walk getting you down to the shops and distilleries (Glen Scotia and Springbank)
We paid extra for the room on the front which was well worth it! The room was excellent, very spacious, fantastic view of the sea and the building itself is beautiful, it was a perfect location for the reason we where visiting which was for the springbank distillery, the hotel staff/owners where really lovely.
Our host was very welcoming, helpful, and kind. Breakfast was good. Our room was spacious, with ensuite bathroom which is not always the case in historical homes. The location is very central to Campbeltown and easy to walk within the town. Free street parking was easy.
Room was comfortable with a lovely view of the garden. Guest lounge and bar were fabulous and very welcoming. Breakfast was a great full Scottish. Hotel was within walking distance of the town. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.
Kirsteen was welcoming and an incredible host. Great care was shown to present the room in an inviting way. Although the rooms were warm, due to unseasonably warm Scotland weather, they were comfortable and we had everything we needed.
A total surprise compared to the other hotels/ B&B I have used in this area. Tastefully refurbished school building and excellent B&B. Owner could not have been more welcoming. Breakfast was top notch too.
Central location in heart of Campbeltown . Friendly knowledgeable owners who will go out their way to make your stay a great experience. Lovely breakfast in a homely breakfast lounge.
