Horsted Place is a wedding factory. This is not a venue for vacationers. The whole operation is focused on weddings. Food is marginal. Service personnel try, but are not properly trained. The most absurd feature was staff wearing ill-fitting white gloves, to serve meals.

The camping pod was really cosy and clean, much roomier and more comfortable than I expected. The pods are really well kitted out with kitchenware and home comforts, which is perfect for a solo traveller who can't carry too much with them. Lovely little coffee/tea hamper provided and the hob was really easy to use.
The pods are warm and well lit, with a great little decking area to sit out on into the evening.
Very comfortable beds and bedding, plenty of towels in the shower room and all the little extra things you might need have been thought of.
I would highly recommend the Scallows and would love to visit again myself one day.

Carol & Ceri went above & beyond as hosts. This is an amazing bed & breakfast. They went out of their way to accommodate us on several occasions and made our trip overseas that much better. The bedroom was so cozy and there is a beautiful backyard to sit down and relax in. Breakfast was great and always punctual! Would definitely recommend to others. We also loved having their 3 dogs around!
A beautiful old house in magnificient grounds.
The most friendly and helpful staff TEAM we have ever encountered in any hotel we;ve ever stopped at. Nothing was too much trouble.
Having served us once they always remembered our name for the rest of the stay. I can't really fault it in any way.

Lovely room, pleasant staff.
Lovely room, pleasant staff. Some of the hotel looks a little tired and in need of a little TLC. Bar prices are very expensive, unnecessarily so in my opinion. There wasn’t any hot water for the shower this morning which was a shame. Also cold plates at breakfast. Small details that could be improved on.

This was a very convenient place to stay for the event (wedding) we were attending. It was close to several lovely villages in nice countryside and surrounded by some lovely countryside.
Traffic noise outside was less because it was the weekend and we had windows closed - in summer on a weekday, it would be noisy.

Very well placed for the Bluebell railway and Sheffield Park Gardens. There are also many other places of interest a short drive away.
Buxted is somewhat spoilt by the busy main road which runs through it.
We ate at the Buxted Inn on both evenings, where the food was excellent.
The contemporary design of the hotel. The room was very clean & had everything needed for a comfortable stay. There's a great Mira power shower. We ate both breakfast & dinner, which was very well presented & extremely tasty. There's a vast range of drinks on offer, which were also of high quality. The staff are extremely friendly & so helpful. Excellent customer service all round. Highly recommend The Buxted Inn & wouldn't hesistate to stay here again! Keep up the excellent work.
Lovely staff and a very welcoming atmosphere have always been the hallmark of this hotel. We have been coming for several years and rooms are comfortable with everything you would expect including a fridge with water and fresh milk and slippers and bathrobes. Very good selection of both room service food and full menu in the restaurant and a huge bar and terraced area for drinks and outside dining. Not surprisingly, this hotel also caters for weddings.
The view was fabulous from our very comfortable room. The grounds are wonderful with many old and very beautiful trees. The staff were extremely attentive and helpful and fun. The afternoon cream tea was delicious (5* for the scones!), as was dinner and breakfast. The weather was amazing - which of course helps - but I do believe that this lovely hotel would shine even when the sun refused to do so....
I was looking forward to eating in their restaurant, we arrived on a Sunday after the restaurant closed at 4 o'clock. However Nick provided me with alternatives before we arrived, so it was expected and thank you. The shower is fantastic in a modern bathroom and the bed was large and comfortable. I would recommend staying at the Buxted Inn, it's nicely decorated and the staff are friendly.
The hotel was very convenient to the railway station which was one of the reasons we had chosen it. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable and we enjoyed a good meal in the evening.
Always a joy to return to Buxted. Staff are very welcoming and look after you. The hotel is beautiful and the scenic views are amazing. Wonderful time. Will be returning one day again
Lovely, well stocked bar; room and its inclusions (tea, water, wi-fi all free) was excellent and shower was best I've had in any hotel. Did not eat there, so cannot comment.
The staff were incredibly helpful and treated my husband and I like valued guests. The grounds are beautiful, the hotel relaxed and the food exceptional.
