Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Found us a last min table for dinner on a busy Saturday night.

The room was fantastic. Brilliant view, comfortable bed, lovely bath and tasteful furniture. Both the bedroom and bathroom were much bigger than usual, and we were so lucky to see the most spectacular sunset from the room.

The breakfast was amazing, bed was super comfy, the room had biscuits and a nice selection of drinks like tea / coffee. Plus, staff were super nice. Loved it all, would definitely stay here again
Very pleasant relatively low key resort. The local museum is exceptional. The food available was disappointing - pub fare (fine but not for every lunch and dinner) - with no stall/restaurant selling crab sandwiches or edible shell fish.
Well worth taking the foot ferry to Point Clear for a walk. Very relaxing walks along the river as well.

Loved Brightlingsea.
Loved Brightlingsea. We were pleasantly surprised how peaceful and pretty it was. The museum was very interesting and loved the lake & beach huts. We ate at the Yachtsman twice and the Rosebud. Enjoyed our meals at both places. We travelled out most days to Mersea, Dedham, Holland -0n -Sea, Maldon and Colchester and would recommend all these places.

Brightlingsea is a quaint little town.
Brightlingsea is a quaint little town. Only one way in one way out everyone said and it’s true. Lovely fish and chips in Winkees and a great selection in the kebab shop we even brought some home there was so much left over. The pub we stayed in The Freemasons arms is so friendly and live music most weekends. We went to the promanade to see a music festival which although weather not great we still had a great time. Also it’s not far from clacton on sea where there is lots to do there. A great stay.
Welcoming. Very clean. Homely. Nothing too much bother... asked for a shower mat. Was there when we opened the door next morning! Chocolate provided. Food basics all provided in fridge. Nice little bits left for guest use... including tea and coffee/ some bathroom things like shampoo and conditioner(happy to use what was left by others!) Really couldn't fault it. And location.. well... my favourite place in Brightlingsea... having been a local before, I know my locations! Bed to beach: 2 minutes at most. 😊
it was very spacious and lots of home comforts such as salt and vinegar and cleaning equipment. the garden is just perfect. very quiet area even with a pub a few yards away. beds are comfy and it’s much bigger than you think. perfect base to see all of brightlingsea and surrounding areas.
The central location was great with a couple of pubs practically across the street. It was located a walk from a pub with food and no restaurants were nearby but it is really a self catering stay with a commual kitch and dining area. We had a comfortable and enjoyable couple of nights.
How it felt like a home away from home, very good value for money, the cottage is in prime location of brightlingsea, with shops and the beach just a walk away
It was the perfect weekend away for me and my boyfriend
Lovely accommodation - clean and comfortable in an idyllic rural setting. Welcoming host and a short drive to a small town with everything you need. Perfect for a weekend away with the kids.
