Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc
Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc
Down side absolutely shockingly no transport!!!
You have to get a cab and that was almost impossible, they really need to improve transport links, I had to book a cab from abergavenny which cost a small fortune just to be able to catch train home.
It's better if you drive

From the town with independent shops to the breathtaking walks this is a lovely place to spend some time to take in the Welsh scenery. There is plenty of parking and places to stay and prices are reasonable. The museums and community centres are not to be missed.

Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself.
Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself. Other days went out to visit, wales ape and monkey sanctuary, Henrhyd waterfalls were well worth the walk down the shale track, visited Blaenavon mining museum and visited Aberfan. Each route had ideal motorcycling road and spectacular countryside views. There are also other places to visit but did not have time to visit them all. Would recommend the area for views and for walkers, lovely spots for picnics. Absulutely fantastic

The hotel was clean neat and tidy.
The hotel was clean neat and tidy. The people on reception were polite & courteous. The restaurant food was good.
There is no service between lunch and dinner - so it means a trip out if you need a snack.
I was using the hotel as a half way stop so didn’t explore the area.. sorry.
This was a perfect location to stay for a short break in the Brecon Beacons. 5 minutes outside Brecon the farmhouse is in a beautiful bucolic setting. As you enjoy the tasty, freshly made, full English you can gaze over the foothills of the Beacons and watch the chickens, guinea fowl and black sheep just outside the window. Throughout the stay I was well looked after by the hosts and nothing was too much trouble. My room was clean and cosy - I slept like a log! The bathroom was immaculate and spacious with a powerful shower.
Great breakfast in the morning, the full English includes a continental breakfast too which was nice. The showers were hot and clean, room and toilets were warm and clean too. Plenty of free parking and a great location to explore the Brecon Beacons national park and really helpful staff, who suggested a good circular route from the door up to Fan Frynych.
If you’re looking for a great B&B in Brecon, look no further. Great rooms, great location, and an exceptional guest experience from the host, Gail. Made an already wonderful trip to Brecon Beacons extra special with her local knowledge and care & pampering of guests. Anticipates guests needs and is more than happy to help. 10/10 Highly recommend!
Everything, Rachel and Sid are most welcoming. The facilities are second to none (some hotels don’t offer that kind nod level) rooms are spacious and super comfortable. Breakfast is to order and very tasty. Location is perfect for Brecon beacon national park and surrounding area! Can not recommend highly enough. Definitely great value for money.
Hosts were incredible; welcoming and very informative. Felt like our own little house in the Welsh countryside. The loft was a perfect little getaway for us after Christmas. Hot tub was lovely after exploring Brecon beacons and walking up Pen y fan. Lovely shower and bathroom area and super clean. Very excited to return!
A beautiful, spacious, spotless clean room in a fabulous and modern decor property. The view from the room is stunning. Elaine and Lyn both were superb hosts, very welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was excellent and delicious which was perfect to start the day. Would highly recommend when visiting Brecon Beacons.
I know Brecon very well and have stayed in a couple of the other hotels in town. But I chose to stay there while I visited family.
The room was clean, quiet and had a lovely bathroom. It's central to town and despite it being part of the pub's complex - it wasn't noisy, (although I stayed mid week).
Excellent location with beautiful views. A short walk downhill to town. Accommodation was extremely well furnished and clean. We had the best bedroom we'd ever had on a weekend break. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice.
Michelle on reception and sue from breakfast we’re amazing, understaffed but they made us have the best stay we possibly could.
location is perfect for visiting the beacons and exploring the town of Brecon.
it’s a comfortable home from home type of Hotel with very friendly Staff. Jacob was particularly helpful and recommended the Kebabs for our dinner, they were delicious.
Beautiful location in the Brecon Beacons, close to the town centre and integrated into the medieval castle. Excellent breakfast and great venue for a party!
