The bed and bedding was of good quality. The hotel has potential with its location and historical value but the impression one is left with is that it is being “run on the cheap” and money is not being invested into its staff or its upkeep.

The guy who was working when we checked in was amazing he made us feel right at home, the real fire in the bar was lovely and we enjoyed the live music, our wee dog was made to feel at home too. Although the kitchen was closed you could go across the road to the sister hotel which had lovely food and was again dog 🐶 friendly. Would stay here again 😁

Comfortable rooms and lounge. Useful to have use of a kitchen as well as it is quite isolated. Excellent continental breakfast,. I particularly liked the natural yogurt and fruit. Wilma was friendly and helpful.
