Very clean and comfortable, little skeptical about the continental breakfast in the room, but turned out to be a very good selection and a really great idea. Host was a delight to talk to.

It was a lovely little place, which had everything we needed.
Natalie was really helpful and prompt when we had an issue and sorted it straight away!!!
We loved the fact there were toys, highchair and cot there for our 18mnth old. It meant we didn't need to try and pack it all!! Very helpful!!!

I ended up at the Black Horse after being stranded at Peterborough due to an LNER situation - I tried booking hotels in town and they had run out of spaces so I randomly chose a reasonably priced one that was accessible - which ended up being the Black Horse. It looked very nice from the photos and lived up to this image - it's a gorgeous place - an old-fashioned inn with a restaurant, bar and rooms, beautifully decorated. The young woman on duty who checked me in (I can't remember her name but she was great) was extremely welcoming, reassuring and accommodating. The dinner was exceptional - the best gluten-free fish and chips I have tasted! (Coeliacs should check if the tartare sauce is gluten free though) It was great to be so warm and well-fed in such a nice environment after being stuck on the train and then a cold platform for several hours. I'd definitely recommend this place. My room was large and comfortable with space to work and a really good shower. They even let me work remotely the next morning teaching music online no bother! (In fact I got a round of applause from the locals in bar next door when I finished :D) Altogether very friendly, comfortable, amenable and relaxed place. The young bar staff were also great - relaxed, resourceful and accommodating. I'd definitely choose to stay here if I was in the area again, absolutely.

Almost everything. Clean, full of light... The level of attention to little details was outstanding. The decoration is fantastic. It really gives a sense of coziness, comfort and relaxation. You don't want to go out. I would love to stay more days.

Nice little town. Attractive architecture, fun little museum, nice walking potential both in the two town centre parks and at Bourne Woods (a 3min drive or 10min walk out of town). A range of eateries for most tastes (speciality sausage rolls from Grasmere's in West Street, and Sassi's Thai curries, to be especially recommended), and several very decent pubs (Smiths for a good range of local beers; The Mason's for well-kept Adnams, board games and a real fire). A gentle but warm welcome from everyone, in this unjustly overlooked little corner of Lincolnshire.

Bourne is a charming small rural town.
Bourne is a charming small rural town. Beautifully maintained. It isn't a 'party'town but it is a good base to travel from - Tattersall Castle is about 40 minutes away and that is worth a visit, for starters
Eating there were several choices including the Weatherspoons if you want the budget end.
